Maya POV:
I woke up this morning and got sick all over the floor.
I knew instantly that something was wrong.
Firstly, because I had also missed my period this month.
Secondly, because I woke up and got sick in the floor.
Thirdly, I'm Maya Hart- I'm never sick.
And lastly, I feel so bloated, in my ankles and my stomach.
I got dressed, ran out the door and sprinted to the drugstore round the corner.
I walked in the door and walked down the ladies isle.
It was like it was mocking me: pads then tampons then pregnancy tests and then condoms. Are they trying to mock me or something?
I picked up the most expensive one there, ClearBlue (I figured it would be the best), and went up to the counter to pay.
Abigail, a woman that I've known for about 7 years now, was working at the till.
"What did you do this time Maya?" she said with a slight look of sympathy in her eyes.
"I-I-I think I messed up", I stuttered.
"Go on back to the bathroom. I'll pay for these"
"Th-th-thanks Abbie" I said close to tears. She was like an older sister to me.
I walked into the toilet in the back of the shop, my hands shaking as I closed and locked the door.
I opened the cardboard box. It only had two tests in it.
I took off the blue cap and peed on it, like it had instructed, and then laid it on the counter.
I waited for one minute like it said, and then checked it.
It said I was 2-3 weeks pregnant. No it's wrong, it has to be, I kept reassuring myself, even though I knew that a pregnancy test that cost $12.99 wouldn't be wrong.
I used the second one and it said the exact same thing again.
As I walked out of the bathroom, crying my eyes out, mascara and eyeliner smeared down my face, Abigail came over and gave me a huge hug.
"I'm so sorry Maya" she said.
"I have to go to school now" I sobbed.
"Come back after school and I'll help you tell your mom"
"Thanks Abbie" I said as I walked out the door.
What the hell was my mom going to say??
What is the baby's father going to say??
How will I tell him??
What will Riley think of me??
What will everyone at school think of me??
Those are just a few of the thoughts that I was thinking while walking home.
