I didn't know what to do.

My mother's head was hanging on this creature's back.

I was furious. But I wanted to cry at the same time.

Father had already leaped from his chair, but hadn't seen the cloak on the creeper, otherwise he wouldn't have been frightened like he was.

It felt like forever, before I made a move, but I'm sure it was only a few seconds.

I ripped my bow and quiver from their hooks, slinging an arrow into the bow and running forward, everyone moved out of the way, feeling my intensity as I walked past.

I held the arrow, extended it back as far as it would go and aimed it at the creeper's head. My eyes were like fire, burning holes into his shiny green skin.

The creeper tried to scrambled backwards, but was tied to a pole, and it only dug into his shoulder blades.

"It wasn't me, I swe... swear! I didn't kill her! I bought it! I can show you them!" He yelled, stumbling over words as he tried to escape.

He froze, suddenly, I was confused, but didn't show it, I only lifted it, so it was level with the space between his eyes.

"No, don't kill me! I can help you, I know who killed her!"

I paused, furrowing my brow, and lowering it slightly.

"What makes you think that's why I have you at the end of my arrow, creeper?" I sneered, shocked he knew I was seeking to avenge my mother.

But did I?

I know what people say, it doesn't help anything. But I wanted so badly to make them suffer, like she did. I didn't let him reply.

"If you do, you'll be leading me to be amongst your kind. Even I can't deal with hundreds of creepers"

"Well, you have a bow in my face!" He said, staring at the shiny point."I can lure them out, they have skins from other people too!"

There was murmering among the villagers, as they recalled the loss of their own family and friends.

I thought about it, we could hide in the trees, so if they do try to attack us, they'll be out numbered.

"Arahia. Don't even think about it"

I turned to see my brother, Loki, staring at me. He had a sword in hand, his prized possession. It was the first thing he ever crafted himself. He had our mother's soft green eyes, like I did, and her thick brown hair. Although you could barely tell through all the coal dust coating it. His well toned face wore a serious scowl.

"Who knows what this creeper is thinking, we cannot trust them. In fact, we need to remove him from the village, before he blows it sky high"

The creeper stared at the man who spoke, before back to the girl

"I wont explode, I promise! And I'm not lying about the other creepers!"

My brother grunted, before marching forward, he shoved me to the side, holding his sword to the creeper's chin

"All creepers lie, they can't even trust their own. I want you dead, whether or not you killed my mother"

My brother took the lead well, everyone trusted him, but if things didn't go his way, he would through his weight around, which wasn't so bad when he was little, but that was long ago.

The creeper look to the girl, trying to plead with his empty eyes.

"I haven't lied at all, I promise!"

I sneered, shoving Loki aside

"For once, you're standing down. I want to take control this time, and there is nothing you are doing about it"

I went to the back of the pole, untying the creeper from the pole, but tying him to my arm, so we were linked.

"I still don't trust you. But we shall head out tonight"

Everyone shuffled, no one looked keen to follow.

"Think of all the lives been taken from us. These creepers deserve it."

My father, and my brother didn't look to be with this, they thought it was the wrong idea.

And I knew it was too, but I wanted to anyway.

And nothing was going to stop me.
