As I walked down the darkened street I noticed, for it supposedly being a very busy street, it was unnaturally quiet, I would've thought that I would have, at the very least heard the moans of the people who were getting it on. Why is it so quiet? I thought. I was looking around as I walked and it was a normal street. A dumpster filled to the brim with garbage. Garbage bags and empty cans littered the floor of the alley way with a brick wall at the end of it, as cliché as it is, it's what that alley way looks like. Why am I even here? weird. what even is this street? The buildings weren't as cliché, they were pretty normal everything worked and they were supermarkets and a bus station just around the corner, I can see the lights from where I'm walking. A bus station must have people in it!
I soon came to noticed that I wasn't walking, no, I wasn't standing either, it was as if I wasn't in control of my legs. As if I was possessed or something. C'mon legs! Stop! I just continued walking and walking till my legs went numb from throbbing, even then I kept walking. Please stop! I kept pleading in my head. The city started to speed up like I was in a car slowly going to full speed. Even though I was only walking as fast as I was earlier Faster and Faster the city went by, The longer I had walked.
Suddenly the city came to a halt and I stopped walking with a jerked stop from momentum. Woah there! wait.. my legs aren't a horse I looked around and everything seemed normal. Keyword: seemed. The buildings their normal darkness and only lit up by the street lights and neon signs of 24-hour shops and bars. Alleyways their usual dark abyss of garbage. The sidewalks still their boring selves. The night time sky blocked off by clouds thick enough for even search lights would be unable to pierce through. I was on the some sort of hill because I was able to see for a few blocks ahead of me, but instead of the normal glow of the street lights it was almost pitch black. but there was an eerily feeling setting in the longer I looked around. The street lights then flickered, all the street lights that I could see, besides the street I was on, flickered all at once. Creepy...
While I was looking around I swear I saw a pitch black shadow run past my peripheral vision. I whipped around and saw nothing out of the normal. I scanned the area in search of the weird black mass but I couldn't find it. I turned around and continued looking around till I saw a shadow standing under a street light. It was the darkest shadow I had ever seen, not even the light from the street light could pierce through it. I thought it was coming from somewhere so I looked for the longest time for the source of the shadow but I couldn't find it any, so I looked back at the shadow man. I noticed something off from the Shadow man, it this was a shadow from who knows where, Then.... why was it casting its own shadow?
