Chapter 4

Jake comforted Isa by stroking her hair while she whimpered. Suddenly Isa's eyes snapped open and for a few seconds her eyes were a brilliant sparkling purple.

Jake whispered to Isa "are you alright?"

"Yes, just a bad dream." She replied.

"Wanna talk about it?"

"In the morning." and with that they both went to sleep. Leaving jake to wondered why her eyes had shone such a pretty purple.

In the morning the two 'siblings', forgetting what had happened in the night before, got up and did their morning routine, which is basically chores. They were slaves. One is a shape shifter the other not knowing what she is. You'd think it being the 21st century there were no slaves, but the lower and weaker a species you were, the more of a chance you were to be a slave serving some greedy human noble. It was worse if you were female because the male nobles are so greedy and so cunning that they somehow find a way to bring the females to bed with them, without getting arrested. It was against the law to rape or have any sexual touching on any slaves,but no one really cares. It was about money, always about the money. If you have no money you work it off as a slave. You can sell out of slavery but the amount it costs you would be thrown back into the cycle. But that is not the case for Isa and Jake.

Once they were done their routine, Jake and Isa's master dismissed them and they ran off to the River where they played around.

"Jake! Watch me!" Isa laughed as she jumped into the river from the highest point of the tree. Isa was the greatest climber jake has ever known. That's why their master wasn't going to let her leave so soon. Isa could climb the tallest tower they know in a matter of minutes.

Jake watched Isa and jumped in after her. Isa bobbed up first and swam away giggling.

"You won't be able to find me!" Even though Isa was a very good climber, her hiding skills were as bad as good as she was a climber. The only time she could hide well was in the winter. She was a pure white snow flake, but the rest of the seasons.. she was first to be found.

Jake swam after her when he knew she "hid" herself. He looked around for her and saw her standing in a clearing staring at something. Jake got up and started to walk to Isa while looking out for what Isa was supposedly staring at. There was only the lush green scenery. Isa tapped Isa's shoulder and she whipped around to look at him.

"Uhh.. are you okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah sorry, I thought I saw something" She answered. A dark shadow of a man slinking away out of sight.

"Uh.. Okay. We should dry up and get back..." Jake gestured to his soaking wet clothes.

"You know how much I LOVE being soaking wet while working and having miss adrea come to my room for a nice scolding." Jake grinned.

"Alright wise guy, let's get dried up and back home." Isa chuckled and started walking around. Jake followed her.

"Hey... what did you see?" Jake questions, cautiously.

"Nothing"

"Okay.."

When Isa and Jake were fully dry dried they walked back home where a very displeased head maid was waiting for.them. jake and Isa knew that there was no escape from miss adrea, so they just walked through the front door.

"Where have you too been? The master has been calling for you for about 20 minutes now!" The head maid scolded them.

"We were at the river miss."

"Lemme guess, you too did some swimming, didn't you?"

"Yes miss!" Isa exclaimed happily.

"Look, Isa, your the master's personal slave. You should stop hanging around this fool." Adrea sighed.

"Nope!" She giggled " You said master needed us?" Isa smiled

" Yes, see him in his chambers." Adrea sighed pointing to master's chambers.

"Okay!" Jake and Isa jogged up the stairs. Jake making the loudest thumps on the stairs while Isa making light taps. You could say they were almost opposite, yet like a mirror, the same. When they round the corner, they walked softly to master's chambers door and knocked on the door. A horsed voice of a male said very quietly.

"Come in, Isa, Jake."
