I grinned while he was driving. "C'mon Cas where are you taking me?"

It had been a year and a half since the birthday Cas came home. We'd gotten an apartment together and life was finally good. I was done with college and was now on my way to developing a new RPG game like runescape which got me into design. He was on his last year of school and already promised a position with the NY Philharmonic. Once he was done we were going to move out to the city.

"Just wait, you'll see," he said with a grin. I smiled as he turned onto the parkway.

"Beach date?" I asked.

"Beach date," he replied.

"So what are we doing on this beach date. We didn't bring bathing suits."

"Yeah but I brought bacon cheeseburgers."

I squealed and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you!"

"Shhh babe not while I'm driving."

We pulled into a parking space and he got two glasses, straws and a big bottle of Sprite.

He filled up each and we sat on the hood. He held up his glass and we clinked them.

I grinned. "Cheers mate."

The sun was orange and beautiful as we walked hand in hand along the beach. The sand wormed its way between my toes. It was cool and felt nice, reminding me of all the times I came here when I was little. I was excited for our day to ourselves. It was to be a nice relaxing day with Castiel, my love.

We were holding hands, and I was drinking my Sprite, so I almost choked when he started. I knew it would happen, but I didn't think it would happen today, so soon, so I started tearing up as soon as Cas spoke.

"Dean, I need to ask you something," Cas said, his eyes bursting with excitement. He was fiddling with the straps on Lucifer's coat.

He stopped walking and I turned around. He grabbed my hands an brought them to his lips. "What, Angel?" I said, watching him start to shake. I knew what was coming and I had to hold in a laugh while he was shivering and tapping his leg nervously. "Cas calm your- "

"Marry me?" he said, his voice high and squeaky. I stared at him for a minute, frowning like I was deep in thought.

Eventually, I shrugged and slowly nodded. "I guess so." I took as sip of my Sprite and looked up at him from my drink. His head was tilted to the side and his eyes were wide and confused. I smiled and started laughing then, spewing Sprite over the damp sand. "Cas that's a yes. Of course it would be a yes." He smiled too, then, and took my hand, his trench coat swaying with the wind.

"Remember the first time we met, Dean?" he asked. I grinned and nodded, and we started walking again. I was pretty much glued to Cas, hugging his arm tightly.

"Yes. I almost threw up on you because your name was too long. Of course I remember, Cas."

"Dean, we talked about this. Don't call me Cas." I punched him in the shoulder, laughing.

"Shut up, and kiss me." He happily nodded, and I wrapped my arms around his neck. I sighed when it was over and he kissed my forehead. He hugged me tightly and I snuggled into his chest, just like I did so long ago, that night Sammy found us on the couch. I mumbled into his chest.

"What was that, Dean?"

I chuckled and looked up. He was looking at me with that familiar goofy smile. I laid my head back down, to the side this time so he could hear me.

"I said 'I guess this is it.' So you're really all mine now Cas. You're all mine. My guardian, my best friend. . . My Castiel, Angel of Thursday. Cas, I love you." I saw him smile wide and getting jittery, ready to jump around like a wild animal. I stepped back and held his face in my hands. "Cas calm yourself."

I said two words before kissing him, sealing the deal. A tear rolled down his cheek as they left my lips, and I felt a matching one come to life in my eye. To believe that two words could have that effect on the two of us. Two simple words, that meant so much, signifying our relationship and our love for each other. Two words that reminded me of Sam, driven mad with grief, and of Lucifer, sacrificing himself for the brother he loved. Two words that made me hopeful, that made me think that maybe, there was more time for us after we were gone. More time to spend with Cas in a better place. Two words that had carved themselves into my heart, taking root there long ago and growing into my love for Cas; my willingness to die for him, and to kill for him. Two words that were as much of a part of him as they were of me.

Just two simple words. I smiled as they left my lips.

"My Angel."

I kissed him and felt his smile through the kiss.

"Now how about those burgers?" I giggled and hopped on his back, letting him carry me back to the car.
