This is where I die.

The shadows crept closer and closer. Their presence more threatening with every inch they move. They laughed diabolically and started to say things to me.

"Come on, you look lonely?"

"Why don't you just come and play with us?"

"Come on.... little girl."

"It's very nice here, all we want to do is help you."

My body was frozen in fear. I didn't know what to do. Shaking, I stood up and pointed my shaky wand towards them. "W-wimgardium L-levios-sa." I stuttered. Of course, I'm starting to become Ron.

Flashback.

"Wimgardium Leviosar." Ron said while he whipped his wand up and down several times. I stifled a laugh. It's easy to hear that the teacher didn't put an 'R' emphasis on the end of the incantation. I decided to help him. ....Or prove him wrong, you never know.

My hand stopped his up and down motion he was making. "No. Stop. Stop. Stop. You're going to take someone's eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong. It's LeviosAH, not LeviosAR."

Then, he butted in on my lesson that I was teaching HIM. "You do it then if you're so clever, go on. Go on!"

My eyes automatically rolled. He's underestimating my superiority. And I knew I would prove him wrong.

With my ever growing knowledge, I got it my first try. A swish and a flick with the simple incantation, "Wimgardium Leviosa!" The feather swiftly flew up in the air like there was no tomorrow. And I left Ron Weasley stumped.

End of Flashback.

The spell didn't work and I felt vulnerable without my 2 bestfriends to help me. My feet backed me up into the wall. It's cool surface echoed throughout my body as I hit it.

After that, I didn't know what happened.

There was a bright light and someone yelling. I collapsed onto the gravel unable to hold myself up. A shattering cough shook my body. A familiar yet haunting voice yelled but I don't know what.

Before I knew it, I blacked out.

//

The smell of something baking woke me up. My head reeled at the previous events. Who was it that helped me? My eyes opened to be met with a dark unfamiliar room. Where am I?

A person walked over toward me and sat in the chair next to the bed. It was too dark to see who it was so I summoned my wand and whispered, "Lumos." The sudden light took awhile for me to adjust to but then I realized who it was.

He smirked. "Granger, tell me. What are you doing in Knockturn Alley? Don't worry, you're not there now. Thanks to me."

Draco shifted in the chair. There was a smudge of dirt above his right eyebrow. "Better question is Malfoy, what were you doing there?" He rolled his eyes at me.

"Granger, I asked you first." He smirked staring me straight into the eyes. "But I guess I can say. My wand was gone so I was going to get a new one. I used floo powder and went one over. And than, I saw you. So helpless. Just like the muggle you are."

"Well, I was there because..." I didn't want to tell him. My heart shattered. He stopped smirking noticing my change in emotion.

He looked down at me. "I've never seen you upset before, Granger." At that moment, a very pretty lady entered the room.

"Draco, is she okay?" The woman asked. He nodded and she looked very happy. The woman... she was there when Bellatrix... my arm lifted and I looked at the scar. Mudblood. My body shivered.

"Granger, meet my mother. Her name is Narcissa. She insists you must stay here." Malfoy rolled his eyes. Narcissa nodded quickly and held out a tray of food. She pointed out the amazing delicacies and what they tasted like. I picked out a peculiar looking one and popped it in my mouth.

"Mrs. Malfoy this is truly amazing." She smiled. We had a small talk about cooking while Malfoy sat there awkwardly twiddling with his wand. Mrs. Malfoy mentioned she had to tend to dinner but we'd talk again. Like that, she was gone.

Malfoy and I were left alone. After a long pause, he broke the silence. "Granger, I thought being the brightest witch of our age you would be able to defend yourself. I guess not." I shivered and turned away from him.

"I was caught in the moment. I'm really worried about Harry and Ron." I noticed he flinched when I mentioned Ron's name. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him get up and walk to a bookcase.

"Let's see, any books you haven't read?" He asked, running his finger down the spine of each one.

I tried to recall but I couldn't recall any. "I'm not sure." I mumbled. Malfoy reached the bottom of the bookshelf and laughed a little. He started to pull out various books. I watched as the colorful titles slammed into a well sized pile.

"Granger, you never read a wizard children's book have you?"

-

We were on the 6th book and I was very interested. These stories are much more gruesome than muggle stories. Especially for children.

"My mom would buy me one and give it to me as a present when my father wasn't around. She thought it was essential to help me learn. She promised she would read them to me. Every night when I had the chair pulled up to my bed, she never came. So I taught myself. That's why I've become so independent now I think. I'm not sure entirely." Malfoy mentioned. Finally, he's starting to open up. Even if it was only a little, I knew I would make him.

Malfoy is actually sort of nice. I don't like the fact he calls me Granger. But, I'm sure he doesn't like me calling him Malfoy and Draco.

Then, there was a knock at the door.

I looked up from the children's book.

"Ginny?"
