Pain. Shocking, sickening, and horrific pain. I opened my eyes quickly in alert, immediately regretting it. My eyes scanned my body which was covered in purple and blue bruises and the occasional stitches. Across my forearm was a slash that was at least 10 inches long, and my head was pounding as if someone was repeatedly hitting it with a hammer. It was nauseating and I leaned over to the side of the bed I was laying in and threw up all the pain I was feeling. Surprisingly, none of it hit the beautiful hardwood floor. Someone had placed a large bucket besides my bed. Wise thinking, I thought to myself, knowing if someone got an ounce of vomit on my beautiful floors they'd be a deadman.I sat up in bed and took in my surroundings. The room was spacious with white walls and glossy cherry-wood floors. My bed was large, white, and extremely comfortable. To left of me I noticed an IV bag and heart monitors, along with two large pills with a note that read 'take when awake. For the pain.' I let out a sigh. I probably shouldn't do this but what the hell, and popped the pills in my mouth. I also couldn't help but notice the large countertops across the wall that were littered with pill bottles, Popsicle sticks, cotton balls and needles. And come to think of it, the room smelled of bleach and lemons. It was obvious that I was not in any normal hospital. Where the am I and who the hell saved me?
Panic started to settle in and I jumped out of bed, in attempts to rush to the door. Little did my idiot self know that when I stupidly jumped out of bed after being attacked by a wolf, there would be pain involved. I felt as if I had been hit by a truck and couldn't help but let out a roar of pain. Oh no, oh no, oh no. Why am I so dumb? Oh god.
Right on cue, the door to the right of the room swung open, and there stood a plump women with dark brown hair and warm, light brown eyes. Much to my disbelief, her face was filled with concerned. "Oh honey, are you trying to get yourself killed again? You need to lay down and I will get you some water." Her voice was soft and I immediately took a liking to her. I gently laid down in bed with the help of this women and prepared my questions to bombard her with. "Uh thank you." I said nervously and continued, "Could you please tell me where I am and who brought me here?" She took a few moments to respond, and only answered by saying, "My name is Margaret and I am the pack Doctor. Your vitals look good and I think you are prepared to meet Alpha Xavier. I will run you a warm bath and bring you a clean pair of clothes." This women is crazy. She has to be. "Margaret, what do you mean by pack and Alpha Xavier? All I want to know is where I am and when I can contact the police. My friends were killed and I was attacked by an animal and I need to report it." She looked at me with shock all over her face and in a hushed voice said, "Oh my god, you don't know, do you?" Now I was getting worried. "What don't I know? Please my friends..their families deserve to know what happened, please talk to me!" And with that, Margaret said, "I'll go get you those clothes now, the bathroom is across the room, you can run yourself a bath," and she scurried out of the room with her head bowed.
What a coward. I angrily thought to myself. Tears slid down my cheeks as I thought about my three best friends who were most likely still laying on a cold forest ground. I was still in so much disbelief. I so badly wanted to believe that none of it was real, but sadly it was. I painfully wandered to the bathroom. It was magnificent, the floors were white marble and the bathtub was huge and white with gold legs hoisting it up. There was a double sink with dark wood cabinets underneath and brown granite as the counter top. On top of the sink I noticed a cup of water and a toothbrush with toothpaste. I happily down the glass of water, which was soothing to my dry throat and proceeded to brush my teeth until my gums were raw. I looked up into the mirror and couldn't help but gasp. What is that hideous thing? My hair was matted and caked with blood and dirt and my face was bruised and scratched with a side of extremely dry lips. Bags hung under my exhausted eyes. I rushed over to the bathtub and began to fill it with hot water and dumped delicious smelling soaps in. How do these people not have a shower? This is disgusting. As I stepped in, the warm water instantly soothed my aching bones and I worked to massage the dirt and blood off my hair and body. When I was convinced I was clean enough, I stepped out and wrapped myself in a plush towel.
I was hardly done. I scavenged the bathroom for a brush and Chapstick until I was successful, and once I was finished with those wonderful products, I stepped into the doctors room to see a pair of jeans, a loose black tee shirt, panties, and a pair of white converse folded neatly on the bed. The jeans were a horrible struggle. The stitches were protected by bandages, but sliding a pair of skinny jeans over extremely damaged legs was not my most joyful experience. After I finished dressing, there was a soft knock on the door. "Are you decent?" That was Margaret speaking. I started walking to the door and started my response, "Y-" I didn't even get to finish my thought before the door swung open two inches in front of my face with such a terrifying force. Shocked, I found myself face-to-face with a boy who had the most striking blue eyes I had ever seen. Again.
