"Would you just get up! Jeez!" I felt my body violently shaking and then the pain hit. I immediately threw the hands that were shaking me off and let out a cry of pain.

"You idiot! I'm hurt!" Was all I managed to spit out while choking back tears. I looked up at the extremely stupid victim and wish I hadn't. Xavier had a guilty look on his face and he hardened.

"Shit I'm sorry. God that was so stupid." He started pacing the floor and clenching his hair and now I was questioning why this was affecting him so much. He told me not to ask personal questions and honestly I wasn't in the mood to get screamed at, so I just ignored his actions and moved on.

"So why are you waking me up?" I asked annoyed, you don't wake a girl up from her nap.

"You need to get up. You slept through the night and we have things to discuss and shit that has to be done. Move, now." I growled at his bossy tone, annoyed that he thinks I'm a possession to him, but I didn't object. I started to get out of bed, wincing at the pain. Surprisingly, Xavier came to my side and helped me out of bed and got me steady on my feet. I followed him out the door, and no one could have prepared me for what I was going to see.

The humongous hallway was completely empty and sterile, obviously the doctors floor. The floors were white marble and the hallway walls were covered with a beautiful gray wallpaper. Dazzling mini chandeliers hung from the ceilings, illuminating the hallway.

"You live here?" I asked in amazement.

"Yeah, and this isn't even the best of it." He said with humor and pride in his voice. It was almost cute, watching such a shielded person being proud of something. "Now listen to me. When we get down to the main floor, you will always walk a step behind me. You will never leave my sight. If anyone says something to you or looks at you wrong, you will tell me and I will take care of it, understand?" His voice was so deep and stern.

"I'm not a toy, I can handle myself and I'm not your damn pet." Who does he think he is?

"You are in a house full of werewolves, some of which are arrogant and will do anything to become top dog in this place. You will do as I say or so help me God I will lock you in a room until you understand." At this point he was so close to me that I could see how blue his eyes really were. They were glowing it seemed, so blue they were almost purple. My back was pushed against the wall so I shoved him off me and started walking.

"I'll take that as a 'Yes Xavier, I'll follow your rules so I stay safe.' Great I'm glad that's settled." He said smugly and he pushed me behind him and began walking forward.

As we were walking, God knows where to, I saw a figure approaching us. He was tall, about 6'2 with tanned skin and dark hair and eyes. As he got closer, it became clearer just how attractive he was. My face instantly perked up and Xavier looked behind his shoulder at me and let out a growl. As this beautiful man stopped in front of Xavier, he flashed him a smile.

"Alpha Xavier, so nice to see you. Is this the girl everyone has been talking about?" This guys gave me a smile and I smiled back, very interested. I looked at Xavier's face and he looked disgusted.

"Yes Shane, it is. Now if you would excuse us, we were just on our way." Xavier growled at him and I was appalled at how rude he was being. Xavier grabbed my left arm and dragged me forward, but Shane grabbed my right arm, trying to stop me from going. Shane unknowingly squeezed his fingers around a 10 inch gash in my arm. The pain was excruciating and I screamed, unable to take the pain.

Before I could even react, Shane was thrown against the wall by his shirt collar by a very pissed off Xavier.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Xavier screamed at him. I was so shocked by how he reacted to such a small issue, it was like I was frozen in place.

"I was just trying to get her name Alpha. I'm so sorry, it won't happen again." Shane choked out. He looks so scared and I came to the realization that Xavier had a terrifying effect on people.

"Xavier let him go. Now." I demanded. Much to my surprise, Xavier dropped Shane and looked at him in disgust.

"Go. Now, before I do something I'll regret." Xavier spit. Before Shane took off, I stopped him by his shoulder and smiled.

"My name is Noelle."

Xavier stormed to an elevator, the anger pretty much radiating off of him.
He was acting like a child and it was pissing me off.

"Chill out, would you? He didn't do anything wrong. He was trying to be nice, something I haven't seen a lot of here." I said, glaring at him.

Xavier's eyes turned to stone and he clenched his jaw. "He shouldn't have touched you in the first place, and then he hurts you. He knew better and deserved it."

It was obvious I wasn't getting through to him so I just sighed. We stopped at an elevator and waited for the doors to open then stepped inside. "At least tell me where we are going."

"We are going to the breakfast. There you will meet the other pack members and I will introduce you as my mate."

I didn't realize how hungry I was until he mentioned breakfast. In fact, I was starving. It had to of been at least two days since I had eaten an actual meal. Sadly, fear ruined my appetite. I was about to walk into a room full of what I thought were mythical creatures and be announced as a mate to a jackass. These thoughts must've been expressed on my face because Xavier grabbed my hand. His hand was massive and so warm and led a rush of tingles through my whole arm. I looked up at him to find him staring straight ahead with his jaw clenched and the elevator stopped. Right before the doors opened, Xavier looked down at me and said, "You'll be fine." So comforting.

I took a deep breath and the doors opened to reveal over 150 werewolves all staring at me like they wanted me dead.
