I made it back through the fire escape back to my room through the window. Thankfully, nobody noticed I was gone.

Everything was the same as when i left.

I decided to shower fast and pull on a black tshirt with black jeans, pulling my white hoodie on.

I pull out the pictures from the pocket of my hoodie, looking at them, mostly at the picture of the brothers. The little boy with blue must be Jeff, my dad. The tall one with the green eyes must be Liu, my uncle. I was told i had blue eyes when i was little. It was around child years (Age 7 to be exact) when they just turned into the color of black ink.

I looked at the time. Already 8 am.

I stuff the pictures into the pocket of my jeans, where they would be more safer.

I was tying up my white sneakers when there was a knock at the door.

"Josie??" Miss Emily's voice said.

I stand up straightening myself. "Come in, Miss Emily," i said.

The orphanage mother then enters my room holding a white box in her hand.

"Happy birthday, sweetie," she said, walking up and hugging me.

Miss Emily always treats me like I'm her daughter, even if i barely talk to her. It makes me feel bad.

Daughter... Man, that word is killing me right now. Just like my parents are killing.

"Thank you, miss," i said.

"Here, i got you something/ Its not much, sicne its a bit of a last minute gift.

I sit down, taking the box and setting on the bed as i open it, pulling the pale white tissue paper aside to reveal a white vest. It had some pins on it (Batman, Jack Skellington, and a zombie one).

"I thought you could try something new. I know you like the white hoodie, but i saw this, thought it would look great," she said.

"I actually like it. Thanks," i said.

"Go on, try it on," she said.

I slip off my hoodie and then pulled on the vest. I looked at myself in the mirror.

Not that bad, actually.

"Beautiful," Miss Emily said.

It was then the door opened, and one of the staff entered.

"Miss, the police is here," he said.

"Already?? Breakfast hasn't even been served," Miss Emily said.

"Well, they just arrived," he said.

Miss Emily sighed and got up.

"Sorry Josie. I need to handle this," she said as she walked out the room.

The police... Probably here to question anyone. Hope i'm not in question.

I walked out and stood at thet wall, continuing to process what i have experianced just hours ago.

It was then someone pokes my cheek, making me regain focus.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for a girl who only wears a white hoodie...." Derick's voice smirked as i turned around.

"Oh!! Josie, its you!! Didn't recognize you without your hoodie," Derick smirked.

I punch his shoulder as he chuckles.

"Hey there, Sweet 16," Derick greeted me.

"Hey yourself," i said. "Police here for the murder??"

"Yep. They removed the body, now they just ask questions," he said, leaning against teh wall with me.

Maybe i should tell him about my parents. He is my best friend.

"Can you keep a secret?" i asked.

"You know me. Cross my heart, hope to die," he said.

"Well... I found out about my parents," i said.

His eyes widen. "Really?? Well, spill. Who are they??"  he asked.

"I was about to reach into my pocket when someone tapped my shoulder.

"Josie X??" a raspy vocie said.

I turn around, and..........
