Sophie jiggle on the doorknob, trying to push it open. With another push and a jiggle, it finally went open. Sophie sighed and scanned across her new dorm room. It had a nice window, two beds, a small bathroom, a closet and a desk. She picked up her suitcase and put it on her bed, pushing her dirty brown long hair behind her ear. Her roommate wasn't here yet, which was good so she could unpack in silence.

Sophie wasn't exactly excited about starting college, honestly she felt a little bit forced to be here. Both of her brothers dropped out of college after a few months, but one of them started back up again a few months ago. Of course, their mom was disappointed in them so Sophie wanted to prove that she was better than them. The problem was she had no idea what she was doing here. She didn't even know what she wanted to work as. Thinking back on her mom, Sophie's heart dropped, her eyes started to sting.

Don't start crying Sophie. Don't do this here. Someone could walk into the room at any second.

She blinked her eyes a few times, then started to unpack. After a few minutes of unpacking, the doorknob started to jiggle again. There was laughter outside the door, then the door finally pushed open. Sophie jumped, dropping the shirt in her hand. In stumbled a boy and girl, obviously related. Was the boy wearing a fedora?

They stopped laughing and looked up at Sophie. "Hi!" The girl spoke, showing off her dimples to Sophie. "I'm Emily." She introduced herself, straitening out her curly brown hair with blonde highlights at the end. It looked like ombre, but not quite.

"I'm Sophie." She smiled back, also showing her dimples. Sophie glanced at the boy. He had lip ring, and a tattoo sleeve on one arm, and on the other only a few. The boy smiled at her, noticing her looking. "I'm Harry." He spoke. His voice was deep and rich, slow but calming.  Sophie nodded her head, nervous to say anything.

"Is this your first year too? Please say yes so I wont be alone." Emily pleaded.

"Don't worry, we can be lost together." Sophie reassured her.

Emily took two of her bags and sat them on the other bed across from Sophie's. "Harry here is starting his second year so he can help us. Right Harry?" Emily smirked up at him, patting his shoulder.

Harry rolled his eyes, "Guess I don't have a choice."

Emily shook her head as if to say he doesn't. Again, the doorknob jiggled. "That must be mom." Harry said, walking over to the door and opening it.

"Someone really needs to fix that." The women, Sophie assumed to be Harry and Emily's mom, said. "Everything coming along well?" The women asked Emily, putting her arm around her shoulder. Emily nodded. No wonder Emily was so gorgeous, she got it from her mother. "And you're the roommate?" The women asked, turning to Sophie and smiled.

"Yeah, I'm Sophie." She introduced herself, shaking the women's hand introducing herself as Anne.

"Did your parents come with you today?" Anne asked, glancing to the door as if in moments it would start to jiggle and open up to Sophie's mom. Sophie looked down, shaking her head. "Uh.. no I'm alone here." She started playing with her fingers, a habit that she did when she was nervous.

Anne just nodded, not wanting to ask any further questions. Sophie never really talked about her parents. Her dad didn't talk to her family anymore and her mom.. Her mom. Her mom passed away a few months ago. Just when Sophie and her started to become friends, just as things started to be all well again. Sophie's brothers would have loved to come with her, to help her move in and get comfortable today but they couldn't because of work. Sophie blinked hard and turned around facing the wall and quickly wiped the tears away that were caused by thinking of her mom.

Sophie finished unpacking and sat on the bed, watching Emily finish and Harry watch her with lazy eyes. Anne had left 10 minutes ago, wishing the three of them luck to the school year even though school officially started next week.  Emily flopped on her bed sighing. "Finally."

"Took you long enough." Harry rolled his eyes at her which resulted in Emily kicking him with his foot. "Keep that you and I'll just help Sophie here find her way around and you can suffer." Harry joked, then got up and sat on Sophie's bed next to her, her body stiffing. "Ain't that right Sophie?" Harry asked, looking her deep in the eyes. His hair was pushing back in fedora, his hair slightly greasy but it didn't bother Sophie. It worked for him.  Sophie just looked at him a nodded, not finding the right words to say when he looked at her with those deep green eyes.

"Are you already moved into your dorm?" Sophie asked looking at Harry. It was completely random, but she wanted an excuse to talk to him. To this beautiful boy in front of him.

Harry turned to her, slightly surprised eyes. "You can talk?" He asked, eyebrows raised. Sophie's cheeks heated up and looked down. "But yes I have, my roommate wasn't there yet and I promised I'd help Emily find her dorm." He explained while Sophie nodded.

"I hope you get a crazy roommate." Emily spoke, standing up. Harry once again rolled his eyes at her but then asked where she was going. "I saw a coffee shop outside so I'm going to go get some. Do you guys want to come with?"

Sophie shook her head, she didn't feel like having coffee. "I'm good too." Harry said. Emily shrugged and left the room leaving Harry and Sophie. Well this wasn't awkward.. Sophie saw Harry looking at her, playing with his lip ring, out of the corner of her eye. Sophie looked down at his arms, full of tattoos.

"Did they hurt?" She asked looking up at Harry who was watching her study his tattoos. He nodded responding, "Like hell." "Then why do you get them?" Sophie asked.

"It's like my diary. It may not seem like it, but every one of them has a meaning behind it." He said, now looking at his own arm. "I never tell anyone what they mean.." He said shrugging.

"Why?" Sophie asked quickly adding, "If you don't mind me asking." Harry shrugged, "Like I said it's my diary. It would be a bit strange if a guy would have a diary wouldn't it?" He smirked at her and she smiled agreeing. "Do you have any?" Harry asked.

"Nope." Sophie said shaking her head feeling a bit more comfortable around him now. "I want to though." Harry asked which one and Sophie looked down at his hand that had a cross tattoo. Without thinking she took ahold of his warm long hands and rubbed her thumb over his cross. "Like this, but bigger and on my neck." She explained. "Does it hurt on the neck?" She asked.

Harry turned his head around, keeping his hand in hers, showing her his neck tattoos. They were black but some of them had color. "It's one of the worst places to get one." She could hear the smirk in his voice as he turned back around.

"Damn.." She whispered and he smiled. "I could go get with you? I know a few places that I always go to." He blurted out. Then realized what he said If you want me to that is." He rubbed the back of his neck, a bit embarrassed. He just met this girl and he was already asking to get a tattoo with her. He expected her to turn him down but she did the opposite.

"No, I'd like that. I hope you don't mind me holding your hand and you wiping my tears for me." Sophie joked and Harry chuckled. Sophie looked down, noticing she was still holding his hand. She quickly let go of it and blushed. "Sorry.." She said.

"Looks like you were doing a good job of holding my hand anyways." He smirked again. What was this boy and smirking? But Sophie wasn't complaining because every time her heart fluttered.
