Verbal bullying it not uncommon to occur in your lifetime it might make you feel intimidated or under pressure to not make a fuss because other people are saying it is just a joke.

But it is important to remember that if it happens just once then it is probably just banter. BUT if it happens more then once and you have told a teacher or you have told them to stop and it still continues then that is a sign of verbal bullying.

Verbal bullying/is saying or writing mean things about a person/persons. This includes Teasing,
Name-calling, Inappropriate sexual comments, Taunting and Threatening to cause harm.

Why they might do this?
They might do this to impress their friends or to create/improve their reputation.
They might also do this because the are being bullied themselves and they are trying to deflect the attention.
They might also bully because they enjoy seeing a person hurt or enjoying seeing a persons reaction to the bullying.
They might have problems at home or at school.
They might have a lack of self esteem
Or they might be angry and frustrated and taking it it by bullying.

Verbal bullying can make a person feel Depressed,Anxious, Isolated, Humiliated.

Ways to stop verbal bullying
Tell a teacher or someone else at school that you feel safe telling.
Tell a parent or family member that you feel you trust.
Tell the bully that it is making them look stupid or that it is boring. But take a friend with you and try not to make the bully angry.
Or finally simply walk away with your head held high.
