[Cyan's POV]
I stopped in my tracks as soon as those words hit the air.
I turn around, looking at them in shock.
"W-What did you say??" i asked.
My mother sighs, as if annoyed already.
"You're adopted, Cyan. Someone just dumped you on our doorstep the night of your birthday. You were a stupid little baby that wouldn't shut up," she sneered.
I could feel my legs give away but Jack and Kellin caught me before i can hit the ground. I can feel myself hyperventilating.
"You... You kept me prisoner in that house, beating me, and tell me I AM NOTHING YOUR'S?!?!?! That bastard fucking raped me for fuck's sake!!!!!!" i screamed, feeling tears burn my eyes as i pointed at my "father."
My mother looked at my father in shock and anger.
I then feel Jack pick me up, me clutching the shoe box i retrieved tightly as a roadie grabbed the bags i was holding.
"You people are sick!!!" Jack said as we continued walking until inside the bus.
Jack lies me down on the couch as Jesse and Kellin get my stuff to the bunk room before walking back to me.
"Cyan," Jack said.
"They... They aren't my real parents..." i said, still in shock.
[Jack's POV]
I can't believe what i had heard just now.
Cyan's life had been a complete lie since the start.
I calmed her down a bit as the bus pulled out of the driveway and we were soon on the 3 hour ride back home.
Cyan had calmed down, but i can tell she was lost in questions.
"If i was just left witht hem, then... where could my real parents be??" she asked.
"I wish i knew. But we'll figure it out. Get some rest," i said.
She nods and curls up on the couch, more tears falling.
iI hope she's cheered up by tomorrow, since we'll be at the beach.
She's can't swim though. Basically how we met.
***flashback***
I had gone to the community pool with a friend. Only a couple people were there (10 people, give or take).
"Help!!" someone cried from the other end of the pool.
I look, seeing it was a girl. The bad thing about this pool was that there was barely a lifeguard at his/her post.
I took off my shirt and dove into the water. Thank goodness I'm a good swimmer.
I reached her just in time before she gave up and was about to sink. My guess was she was walking and slipped on the edge and into the deep end.
"Hold on to me," i told ehr as i swam to the edge.
My friend, Alex, was already at the edge of the pool as i pulled the girl up to him.
He grabbed her and carefully lied her down on the ground as she was hyperventilating. The few people already here watched curiously.
I climbed out and walked towards her.
She wore a black overstretched shirt. It was over her purple bathing suit and she also wore grey shorts. Her ankle was scraped pretty badly, but what had me worried were the cuts on her arm.
She looekd around 13. I was 16 almsot to 17.
"Hey, hey, hey, relax, you're okay," i said, calming her down.
Her breathing calmed down as she looked up to me with amazing blue eyes, full of tears and fear.
"Are you okay, can you speak??" i asked as we carefully sat her up, Alex patting her back.
"Y-Yes.. Th-Thank you," she stuttered.
While Alex announced that she was alreight, releaving everyone from worry, as i wrapped the girl in my towel.
"I had my own," she said.
I look back, seeing she held a bag, filled with her towel and other stuff, and she had lost her flip flops and bracelets, too.
"Alex, mind fishing her things out??" i told him.
He nodded and took off his shirt before making a dive to retrieve her things.
I look back at her. "What's your name??" i asked.
"C-Cyan," she said.
"My name is Jack," i said.
"I'm... I'm sorry," she said, more tears in her eyes.
"Why are you apologizing?? A lot of people slip at that end," i said.
She only looking down.
It was then i remember her cuts.
"Show me your arms," i said.
"What??" she asked.
"Your arms," i said.
She gulped and held out her hand, so i pulled it and turned her arm, making her yelp in fear as i saw the red lines going across her arm.
"Why??" i asked.
***end of flashback***
Cyan was escaping from her parents, who insulted her more, and when she said 'slipped' she meant 'jumped.'
In other words, she was drowning herself, but changed her mind at the last minute.
I picked up Cyan and carried her to my bunk as everyone started preparing for arriving back home.
She needed her rest. We all did.
