Early December wind flows through the village. Isaic shivers and curses under his breath, he's not one for cold weather. And after almost slipping on to his face several times due to the icey road, he reaches his destination.

The south side of the kingdom is very sketchy and dangerous. Theres theifs and crimals around every corner, prostitutes and drunks on the streets, not a place to walk around by yourself. But on the very outskirts of it, on the corner of Jackson and Killian Blvd, is a blacksmiths shop that Isaic vists from time to time. Home of his best friend Zachary Reaper.

They've been best friends their entire life. Completely inseparable.

Isaic pushs open the door into the rather dark building, and instantly is greeted with loud barbaric voices. Mr. Reaper was arguing with a man, for what Isaic thought was a price for a sword.

He slips past them to the back room, looking for Zachary. He follows the sound of pounding metal and finds him shirtless, coated in sweat from working.

"Ugh. Not you." Zachary stops to say with disgust in his voice.

"Watch it or I'll have my people take you in and cut off your limbs, you worthless peasant." Isaic shots back in a deep serious voice.

"oh but my lord, who will keep you company when your a complete loner with no friends." Zachary breaks his act and laughs at the last part.

"Shut up Zach. I'm a prince. I can simply make people hang out with me." Isaic flops down on a dirty couch in the corner making himself comfortable.

"Thats literally the saddest thing I've ever heard you say. Who knew my best friend was a total loser." He sit next to him. "So what do you want."

"Have you heard of the murder last week?"

"Of course. That's all over the news papers. Do you think it has to do with the killings?"

"The what?" Isaac's brows scrunched up in confusion.

"Yeah. The night watch have been seeing people sneek out at night, though they don't see who they are. Then in the morning they find bodies of random people."

"I wonder why I haven't heard of this in the castle..."

"Well, apparently they want to keep this as quiet as possible, but there's already talk on the streets."

The information was fresh to his ears.

This information lefted him curious for more, and he plotted a plan on how to solve this case with no one but his dearest friend knowing.

"I know that look... Isaic Drake Adeney what on earth are you getting yourself into." Isaic smiled and placed his arm around his friends shoulders, which he almost instantly regretted since he's still awkwardly shirtless and sweaty.

"Correction. What I'm getting us into." And in that moment Zach groaned, knowing he needs new friends.
