Heart on my sleeve

Chapter 1

Note: This my first story that I have ever done. I am new to all of this and I am open to improvements and ideas that could help the story progress. I hope you like it!

As I get in my best friend Lucy's car to go to school I look at her ecstatic face. "What's got you so happy?" I ask. "It's Friday!" she said. "Oh did you hear, Emily is having a party because her parents are out of town." I said "Who is that again?" Lucy said starting up the engine. "You know Emily, Emily Johnson the one who never shuts up in Geography." I said hoping she would remember "Oh okay. Will there be alcohol?" she asked. "Probably it wouldn't be a party without it." I said jokingly. "okay I guess I will come, you will only force me to go anyway" she murmured tapping her fingers on the stirring wheel.

Lucy is the kind of girl who doesn't mind parties once she is there but would rather stay at home becoming obsessed with a new TV show on Netflix or being with her boyfriend Cameron. Don't get me wrong I love that she has a boyfriend but I don't get to see her a lot anymore but as long as she is happy, right?

As I got out of the parked car I said quickly before we departed "Come to mine after school so we can get ready for the party, yeah?" "Yeah sounds good, I will message you later." She said focused on something else. Whatever it was I had no idea about.

The morning seemed to drag on for ages, I had science then German which are my worst lessons. The only thing that got me through it was the fact that it was Friday. I then had geography and graphics in geography Emily wouldn't shut up about the party but then again everyone else was talking about it. While that was going on me and Lucy were talking to Cameron from across the room so it went quicker.

When I was walking to Graphics someone knocked into me causing me to drop my books. "OMG! I'm sorry I didn't see you there." The boy said "Its fine, don't worry about it." I said taking some books from him. "My name is Charlie I'm new here. What's your name?" he asked. "Alex it's nice to meet you." "It's nice to meet you too, are you going to that party tonight?" he said standing back up. "Yeah" I said nervously "I will see you tonight then?" he said with a smile on his face turning to walk away. "Okay see you there." I mumble quietly.

It turns out he is in my graphics class, we kept exchanging looks across the room, every time he smiled at me I couldn't help but do the same. After my last lesson of the day I was so happy because it was finally the weekend!

On the way to Lucy's car Sky came running up to me. I met Sky at one of my first days at high school we are not really close but we talk now and then when we see each other.  "Hey Alex, long time no see how are you?" she said excitedly I don't think I have ever seen her unhappy. "I'm good thanks you." I said as I looked up at her. "Yeah great thanks, are you going to Emily Johnson's party?" "Yep, why?" I asked "Oh, no reason just wondering if you were that's all. I heard that it's going to be big one." She said with her big eyes showing the excitement. Sky loves parties especially when it's a big one. She looked over at her friends waving for her to come over. "Okay then I will see you there, bye." She said as she ran over to them. "see ya!" I shouted.

When I got home I went straight to the fridge which I did on a daily basis, when I shut the fridge my twin brother appeared shocking me. "Hey ugly" he mumbled taking my food I just got out the fridge, not noticing my glare at him.

Me and my brother weren't identical twins, we had a weird sister brother relationship because we didn't hate or like each other but I guess you could say we looked out for one another and he was a bit of an over protective brother.

"Excuse me! what do you want anyway Dylan" I said taking my food back "Nothing just coming to get some food before I get ready." He gestured to the cupboard that I was now standing in front of.  "Get ready for what? You..." "Emily Johnson's party" he cut me off before I could say anything sarcastic.

I didn't think that Dylan would be going but then again Sky did say that it was going to be big. To be honest the thought of my brother at a party I was going to didn't really sound fun, but he would probably not take much notice of anything outside his group of friends.
Cool I'm going to." I say starting to make my sandwich. "Really, who you going with?" he says shocked "Lucy and I think that her sister Abigail might come too." "Her sister is super-hot!" he states "No way am I letting you anywhere near my friends!" I say with a face like thunder. "yes I know that because your friends are of limits, I know, I know." He says going up stairs with a packet of crisps.

After I have made my sandwich I head upstairs and sit on my bed turning on Netflix. I pick up my phone at the sound of it vibrating while The Vampire Diaries starts, I got a text from Lucy.

Lucy: I will be over soon xx

Me: Okay I'm guessing Abigail is coming too xx

Lucy: yeah xx

Lucy: will be there in a few xx
Me: okay xx

I put my phone down and picking up my sandwich knowing that Lucy will be late and be about an hour.
I was right again, I only got to watch one episode of the vampire diaries before I heard a knock at the door.

"I'll get it!" I say as I run down the stairs opening the door to see a Lucy and her sister staring at me. "Hey ready to get our party on!" she says as we walk up the stairs. "Don't ever say that again." I said as I look at her with a weird face. "Agreed" Abigail joined in.

After hours of straitening hair and changing outfits we were finally ready to head off to Emily's party.

"Ready?" Lucy asks before heading out the front door. "Yes, let's go." I answer.
