Chapter 4
Alex
Wow that was one of the best days I have ever had, it's definitely in my top five.
It's a montage of memories in my mind, wonderful, sweet and romantic memories shall I add. Charlie was a totally gentle man... wait I'm getting too ahead of myself. Let me start from the beginning...
As the handsome figure holds the car door open for me to exit his car I thank him and give him a kiss on the cheek. When I look back at his face he smiles at me showing of his chiselled jawline, it sends tingles all up and down my body I feel my face blush and I quickly look to my feet. I feel his soft hands lift my head up and plant a kiss on my forehead. Locking the car and taking my hand as we wonder towards the beach.
We soon stop to take our shoes off; we both smile at the feeling of the hot sand on our feet.
"Race you!" Charlie shouts sprinting to the sea. I instantly start running after him (I'm quite a fast runner so it doesn't take me long to catch up with him). "Got you!" I say touching his shoulder blade. "What's my prize?" I ask looking at a smirk starting to appear on his face, he grabs me by the waist acting as if he is going to kiss me but instead starts to tickling me.
"Stop! Charlie... stop, I... can't... breathe!" I say knowing he will stop. "Oh, shit sorry" he apologises looking at me trying to catch my breath. "No, Alex no" he says panic sounding in his voice, I give him a smile reaching out to tingle him back.
I start to tickle him and he bends over trying his best to stop me, I tickled him more when he starts laughing he falls to the floor me landing on top of him, I stop when my eyes lock onto his making butterflies explode in my stomach, well not really but that's what it felt like.
"You have got the prettiest eyes I have ever seen." Charlie says staring deeper into my eyes. I smile feeing blood rush to my face and I quickly look away from him and towards the sea, watching the waves crash long the shore.
He touched the left side of my face turning it gently towards him. "They look like they have seen true heartbreak... I'm sorry that was weird." he looks away slightly embarrassed. "No its fine, I mean yeah I guess you could say that. How could you tell?" I question truly interested n what he had to say.
"I don't know really" he looks into my eyes again "Well when you look at me it's like you are trying to figure out if you should trust me or not. I don't know who wronged you but I promise I won't hurt you, I hope that in your own time you can trust me." He says never leaving our strong gaze.
I replayed what Charlie had just said to me in my head over and over again "you are trying to figure out if you should trust me or not." And "I promise I won't hurt you" people say you should listen to your heart over your head because your heart knows you better than your mind does. Well nobody says that except the internet when you search for deep quotes about love.
But I hardly know Charlie should I really let my heart decide what happens with our relationship or should I let my heart decide whether or not to trust him?
