Lucy never really enjoyed being at parties. The loud music, blurred faces, and sweaty bodies, why would you want to exchange awkward glances and small talk with people that after this, your never going to see, or remember. Wouldn't it be better to just stay inside with the fireplace on and chill around your house. Parties just weren't her style, but that's not going to stop her from going out with her friends and having a damn good time.Lucy POV

Sure, Fairytale has been known for some great parties, and to be honest I've enjoyed many, but parties with people I don't know are immensely awkward and are at the top of my list to avoid. I would normally make a polite excuse to get out of going, but this was the New Years Eve party that all of Fiore was throwing. There would be people all over the streets, pubs open all over the place and, oh here's the best part, all Grand Magic Game top ten guilds would be hosting the party, and that means all guild members would have to attend.Being the good person I am, I somewhat willingly went to the party which was throughout the streets and awkwardly walked around town hoping I could sneak back to my apartment soon enough. Well, I might as well make it to midnight, no point of putting the whole night to waste. I made my way to the guild which was open for all and hoped to find someone I knew, so i didn't have to suffer awkwardly being a loner for the night. To my disappointment there was no one.
Natsu and Happy said they were definitely going, and unlike me they didn't much encouraging, they loved to party. I haven't seen them all night. Wow, I really am depressing, everyone should be with their loved ones on holidays and I can't even find Natsu. Whoa, since when did I love Natsu. Sure, I've been catching on to some of his romantic gestures, but never thought much about it until I started to become more interested in a romantic side of him, I started to return his feelings and soon enough I was in deeper than I thought.
I've been out at this party for a while, I check the time 11:53, almost there. *sigh* I might as well start heading home now. I start to head home just minding my own business enjoying the peaceful walk and beautiful stars. People start shouting and chanting..60..59..58..there's a nearby barista handing out free beers and kind of forcefully shoves one in my hand. Well free food and drinks does make everything better...32..31...I twist the cap off and take a swig, nothing better than a cold beer, or is it stout, well whatever its already half way down esophagus, if that's even what it's called.
Well, here's to me and the New Year. I press the cold bottle to my li-
"Found Ya! Lets count down together! It's four.." Natsu shouts in my ear making me drop my drink. he snakes his arm around my waist and looks at me ecstatically. He really is a cutie, when he's not too busy picking fights or being an idiot.
"..Three..Come on Lucy!...two..." I rest my hand over his, which is now resting on my hip.
"..AAND O-" I interrupted him with my lips and swiftly press them against his. Fireworks happen, between us and in the air. Cheering and endless shouts of joy. I lean back only enough to press our foreheads together.
"Happy New Year Natsu."
