Chapter 6

Jeff's P.O.V.

Seconds ago, we were walking down the stairs to get breakfast. Only now, Slenderman had teleported himself across the room, seeming to be blinded by rage and the intent to kill whoever threw the object. Huh. It's strange to see what a difference a couple of seconds can make. Masky fixed his dark eyes on me after observing the situation. "Come on," he said with a quick nod of his head gesturing towards the kitchen. Everyone in the household knew well enough by now that when Slender was mad, you best stay out of his way. That is, unless you want to die.

With the thought of certain death fresh in my mind, I followed Masky without a word. As we walked to the kitchen, I quickly took in a glimpse of the situation taking place before me. However, I wasn't prepared to see the event that met my eyes. The room was a complete mess, with upturned couches and chairs, not to mention that the decor once on the walls and tables now adorned the floor. But worse of all, two small, quivering bodies sat side by side in the midst of the chaos, with Slender towering above them, screaming incoherent words of disapproval. I registered the situation as Ben and Sally getting into a fight (in which they always did) that had escalated into something more violent, resulting in the throwing of the object and Slendy getting pissed.

But one question was still left unanswered as we reached the kitchen. How could Ben and Sally possibly cause such a large mess? I sat down, trying to analyze the events as Masky kept himself busy by making breakfast. Slowly, everything came together. Only Slenderman could have made that mess in his fit of rage. But what triggered him to do so? What made this fight between Ben and Sally any different than their usual fights?

"Jeff?" I looked up to be met with Masky placing down a bowl of cereal in front of me. "Oh. Thanks," I said, still a bit fazed from the recent occurrences. Masky slid a chair out across from me as I played around with my food. "Hey Jeff, you okay man? Ben and Sally will be alright, you know them. Slendy would never hurt them anyway." Without lifting my eyes from my bowl, I gave him a half-hearted shrug. "Yeah. Whatever." But despite everything that happened so far, Slenderman seemed to be the only thing on my mind. Man, what a crazy morning.
