Author's Note: I'm aware that I've been gone from here for quite awhile. I'm incredibly sorry for my absence, and you all at least deserve an explanation. There really isn't much for one, other than the fact that I've lost motivation to write. Lately, I've found myself getting into other fandoms and pretty much forgot about this one. But with the break my school was given, I've found more inspiration to write the next chapter of this story. So I hope anyone who has been waiting to read this will enjoy it along with any new readers!

Chapter 7

Slenderman's P.O.V.

First, I was embarrassingly caught with what was supposed to be a private moment with Jeff. And if that wasn't bad enough, he almost got hurt in a fight between Ben and Sally. Something within me snapped when that happened, and I couldn't control what it led up to next - Masky leading Jeff out of the room as I continued to act blindly, fueled by anger.

One look at his grief stricken face was enough for me to stop my attacks, just for a second. Ben and Sally gave each other a quick glance before dashing out of the room before I could do any serious damage. Everything happened so quickly, and as the day's events caught up to me, it was all I could do to not fall to my knees.

"Fuck," I whispered silently, not wanting to make another scene. What have I done? If this didn't ruin my chances to be with Jeff, then I don't know what will. Jeff... Just the thought of him makes me want to blush. If I could, that is.

The scraping sound of chairs pushing back brought me back to reality. And just like that, Masky walked into the room as did Jeff. Both scanned the room quietly and cautiously as if I were going to lash out again. I don't blame them though.

Masky cleared his throat a lightly before starting nervously. "Damn... you need some help with the room man?"

Jeff gave me a small nod of his head showing that he was willing to help as well.

"Sure, I'd appreciate the help. You really don't have to though." I shifted my body so that I was now facing the mess. I couldn't help but look up at Jeff for a split second, only to see him look away, fine pink blush dusted across his face.

I didn't have any time to think anything of it before Masky spoke up again. "It's totally fine, I'll start on this side of the room. And I'm assuming that you'll take the other one Jeff?"

Jeff nodded quickly and wordlessly, going over to his assigned side of the room. I started cleaning up the bigger end of the mess, picking up far off picture frames and shoveling in broken shards of glass with my tentacles. Whatever items were within arm reach were picked up and organized using my hands. A fairly easy strategy when you've got more than enough body parts for grasping things.

A little into the cleaning, Jeff cut his hand against a stray piece of glass that was hidden on the fireplace mantle of our shared house. "Shit-" He hissed under his breath. His curse was quiet enough to go unheard throughout most of the room, but audible enough for me to hear it.

My motherly side (as the others like to call it) instantly clicked on as I rushed over to his side to help. Gingerly pressing a tentacle to the cut, I called out to Masky to get Jeff some bandages.

"Ah.. It's not too deep," said Jeff, wincing a bit as Masky came back and wrapped his hand up skillfully.

By the time we got him all cleaned and bandaged, both Masky and I were soaking in blood where we touched him.

"Not deep? Tell that to the stains you gave us." Masky huffed quietly, giving Jeff a small squeeze on the shoulder. Behind his sass, I could see worry etched into the features of his face. Though to humans we're seen as threats with no sense of feeling other than the urge to kill, we've always been extremely caring towards each other.

The three of us chuckled as Masky and I set off back to work, Jeff resting on a nearby couch after hearing much of our convincing when he wanted to help again. I would every so often see him looking at me, but every time I'd look at him he would avert his eyes to inspect something like a vase, or a dirty patch on the couch.

Within a few hours, we had gotten the living room to look almost exactly as it had before. I thanked the two for their help, as we all prepared to go our separate ways for the day.

I gave Jeff a small nod as he had given me one earlier as a deeper way of expressing my gratitude. I wasn't expecting it from myself either really, especially seeing how much more complicated I've made our relationship already.

It looked like he wasn't expecting it either as he blushed deeply and gave me a small smile before walking out of the room.

It could just be my imagination, but while I was walking out the door, I thought I heard Masky saying something along the lines of "Lovebirds, might as well just start dating already."
