Sand, sea and sky was all that I could see for miles.
The deep blue waves lapped against the shore of the sandy beach. The sandy shores were full of life. The beautiful blue sky above was filled with birds that looked like schools of fish in the majestic sea. I stood there and stared at the horizon—towards the Great Beyond.
As the tide was receding, I walked towards it. I felt like I was being pulled by the ocean's current out to sea. I walked until the tide pulled me in and a cool sensation surrounded me. The next thing I knew I was swimming.
I swam with the ocean currents—toward the Great Beyond—for what felt like ages. But I didn't get any closer to reaching it. If only I could swim a little farther... BANG!
I woke up suddenly from my daydream. I looked around but no one seemed to have noticed that I zoned out. In fact, everyone's gaze seemed to be directed to the front of the class.
I followed their gazes and saw a tall guy standing at the front of the room.
The new guy was pretty tall, probably about 6ft. He had medium-length, brown hair. His eyes were a beautiful brown colour; I never had an interest in brown eyes, but his seemed different. He had a pretty good build. He didn't have big, bulgy biceps but he had enough muscle that his blue t-shirt fit his upper body quite nicely. He was wearing jeans and some boots. Stylish, I thought.
"Class, this is James Bishop, he has transferred from Academic Math to AP and will be joining our class for the rest of the semester," said Mr. Matthews, my Grade 12 AP Math teacher, with anything but enthusiasm.
James waved shyly at the class and walked over to the row of seats I sat in, and sat down in front of me. He turned around and gave me a toothy smile. His teeth were beautiful and straight. I didn't smile back though; I just stared and gave him a small nod. He was cute—am I kidding? He was gorgeous!—But I didn't show any emotions toward him. I just didn't.
He turned around and I saw him take out his textbooks and a notebook. Hr started listening to Mr. Matthews. Well, well, looks like the new kid will be Mr. Matthews' new favourite student, I thought. No one in Mr. Matthews' class ever paid much attention, but when one person did, BAM! You were Mr. Matthews' new favourite student, aka his bitch.
After Jay sat down, Mr. Matthews continued the most boring lesson ever.

Finally at 11:26, the bell ringed for lunch and I immediately grabbed my stuff and left the classroom. I headed to my locker, which was right beside my math class, and opened it. I placed all my binders and textbooks back inside and grabbed my lunch bag. I headed down the stairs to a little area beneath them where there is a ledge and sat.
I opened my lunch bag and found a container full of spaghetti. Ew. I hated cold spaghetti, it never had a good taste. So I closed the container and decided that I was just going to have to deal with my dad shouting at me again for not eating my food—if he was even home today.
Instead, I brought out a book and started reading. It was about these characters that had to defeat this really bad guy who claimed that their government was corrupt and claimed that he had a better plan. He also turned out to be one of the characters' father and a fake father towards another character. The story was really good so far and I was loving it!
