Happy Birthday

Marcel and Zayn were laying down on his bed cuddling and watching a movie. They had now been dating for five months. Marcel's birthday was coming up the next day and he still hasn't mentioned anything to Zayn about what he wanted to do.

"Babe?" Zayn asked.

"Yeah?"

"What do you want to do for your birthday?"

"Nothing, it's not really important, I kinda just was going to get some homework done that day." Zayn gave him a look of disbelief.

"Babe you've got to be kidding to me. You're not doing anything for your birthday?"
"No, my parents never have done anything before, they told me it wasn't important and that I should be lucky they even kept me." Zayn felt horrible for his boyfriend, he'd been to Marcel's a few times and he knew his parents weren't the nicest people. Apparently they were extreme homophobes too so Marcel had to introduce Zayn as just a friend. They had laughed at him and told him someone probably paid Zayn to talk to him because no one would actually want to talk to their "loser son." That infuriated Zayn but Marcel gave him a look not to say anything.

"You can't possibly just sit around doing homework, at least come over tomorrow. Please?"

"Okay babe." Marcel pecked Zayn's lips then got off the bed.

"Well if I'm going to come back tomorrow then I have to get going, I really have to get my homework done." Zayn pouted but he nodded then kissed Marcel one more time.

As soon as Marcel left Zayn went downstairs and saw Niall playing with blocks.

"ZEE!" Niall made grabby hands at Zayn and Zayn picked him up, putting him on his hip. With all the stuff going on lately Zayn hasn't been playing with Niall as much and he just realized how much he missed his little bug.

"Hey Ni, I have to go talk to Dada and Papa, do you want to come with me?" Niall giggled and gave Zayn a sloppy kiss on the cheek.

"Go wif Zee!" He was bouncing with excitement. Zayn laughed and kissed Niall's forehead and carried him to the kitchen where Liam and Louis were working with Harry on his maths. They had been homeschooling him for about a month now and it was going great, Harry had been having less panic attacks since he was home most of the time.

"Dad, Papa? When you have time can I talk to you?"

"Of course love, is everything alright?" Louis asked.

"Yeah Papa I just need some advice. It won't take long." Louis nodded and motioned for Zayn to sit. Zayn sat down bouncing Niall on his lap.

"So what's going on Zee?" Liam asked as Louis helped Harry with one of his homework questions.

"Well tomorrow is Marcel's birthday and I already got him a present but I want to do something for him. All he had planned for his birthday was doing his homework and I was able to convince him to at least come over tomorrow but I want to do something special for him."

"Well we could help you throw a little party for him."

"Really?! Thanks dad that'd be great."

Harry and Niall helped Louis make decorations. According to all the banners Harry made Marcel's name was spelled "Mursell" Louis tried to fix it but Harry threw a fit and insisted it was right. With Harry Louis knew he had to pick his battles and this wasn't one of them. Liam and Zayn went to the shops to get balloons and a cake and a few other party items.

The next day came and they spent all morning frantically setting up. Marcel would be here any minute. The door bell rang and Zayn opened it. When Marcel walked in Liam,Louis,Zayn,Harry,and Niall yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Well Niall said something that sounded like"Happwy Birfdway" Marcel looked around at everything and began to tear up. He hugged all of them one by one.

"Thank you so much. I've never had anyone do anything like this for me before. I love it." When he got to Zayn he kissed him sweetly.

"Happy birthday babe."

They spent the rest of the day eating and talking and just hanging out. Marcel told Harry that he loved the banners he made and that secretly that's how his name was spelled and that he's the only one who ever got it right. Zayn smiled at that. He loves how well Marcel got along with his family. Looking at Marcel interact with them he realized just how much he really loved his boyfriend.
