Siddharth's POV
"I am going to make you coffee now but after that I am sure you'll be fine to talk." She nodded and stared at the wall where there was a picture of mine and my mother. My mother used to adore her more than me. She always thought of Kiara as her daughter, the bond between them was quite strong. She cut off all her ties with her too, after you know what. I knew she was thinking about her. I handed her the coffee, and sat near her. I waited for 5 minutes but when I couldn't take anymore of the suspense I spoke again "I.." but was cut off immediately.
"After the graduation, I was walking home as I missed the bus that day. When I was halfway I started having this feeling like someone is watching me. I turned back and saw no one, I checked the bushes and the trees nearby too. But when I turned back someone poured something on me and ran off instantly. The burning..... the burning started first at my left eye then my cheeks, neck and then the whole upper half of my body. It was so painful, Sid." She looked at me with tears and horror in her eyes.
I wanted to stop her because she was shivering now. No I can't see her like this. But I wanted to know, I wanted all the tears to come out. So I decided to let her continue.
"Then I felt numb... the next thing I remember was that I was in a white room with bright white lights after which I blacked out. I awoke after a week and saw bandage all over my body. It was still burning so damn much like I was on fire. I saw dad with so much pity and shame. He stared at me for 5 minutes and then walked away forever from my life. I went through so many operations; the same NGO for which I am working now saved me. There were times when I felt like an orphan because their was nobody, if the people of the NGO wouldn't have been there then I would have died . I thought of you though." She smiled.
"Your laughter, your eyes and all the memories of ours and that's what gave me strength. I didn't want to see you like that. I feared that you'll leave me too just like dad. I let you go, Siddharth because I knew you deserve so much better than me, than this." She pointed at her scars. "I loved you and when you love someone you want their happiness more than yours, so I did exactly that. After a year, cops called and said that they've caught the one who did this."
"Who was he?" I asked keeping my temper down just for the moment. She stood up and was about to walk away when I caught her wrist and asked her again, I was fuming now. "WHO-DID-THIS-K?"
