Chapter 2: Welcome

When we walked into the asylum, we went down a few halls and finally reached a room. On the glass of the door it said, "HEAD" so I know where the head masters office is.

We walked into the office and there was a lady sitting on a chair waiting for us. She had curly red hair, brown eyes, and she was wearing bright red lipstick.

"Hello, my name is Mahogany. Welcome to this correctional institution. Here we are going to teach you right from wrong, and we hope one day you will make it out of here a new person. Welcome back Aaron." she said.

"What's up Mahogany how's it been?" he said.

"Great, I'm glad to see that the officers found you because you were no where near from ready to leave this place." she said and he stuck his tongue out at her.

"And for you," she said looking at me, "what is your name?"

"Meghan." I said almost like a whisper.

"Oh Meghan, there is nothing to worry about. You are safe here with us. I know you will fit in just fine." she said with a smile. I just slightly smiled back.

"Well, Aaron your room is 152 and Meghan your room is 157. Don't be alarmed if someone is already in that room, some people will be sharing rooms with others, got it?" she asked. We both just shook our heads yes.

"Well good! Welcome, and I hope you have a wonderful time at the California Institute! OFFICERS! Take them to there rooms!" she said as we were dragged out of the office.

It seems so peaceful here, why would Aaron try to escape?

The officers were walking us to our rooms and Aaron's was just down the hall from mine. I was at the entrance of my room, and the officer unlocked it and pushed me in. Rude.

I looked in and I guess I'm sharing a room, but I'm sharing it with a boy. This boy was tall, he had brown hair and brown eyes, and for some reason he reminded me of Justin Beiber...

"Oh hey, my names Matt, I guess we get to share a room together. What's your name?" Matt asked.

"Meghan. I just got here with a boy named Aaron and I-"

"Ha! I told him he would never make it out without being caught! Hayes owes me 10 bucks! Ha ha ha ha!" he said while laughing.

"So I uh guess you all are very close?"

"Yeah, most of us were brought in around the same time so we got to know each other a little better."

"Oh well uh that's cool I guess."

"Yeah. I'll introduce them all to you later. I know we really aren't supposed to ask this but why are you in here? A pretty girl like you doesn't deserve to be locked up here." he said with a smile. I blushed and smiled back.

"I don't really want to talk about it." I say a little quiet.

"Oh well that's ok. It was worth a shot asking. You wanna know how I got in here?" he asked and I just nodded my head.

"So I have these friends back at home. These guys are, well were my best friends. One day they were bullying this one girl who I had a crush on.Her name was Tori. I thought Tori was beautiful and I wanted to ask her out, so I walked up to my friends and asked them to stop bullying her. They didn't listen. I asked them again and they just pushed me down and started pushing her. It got me so angry so I started to figt them. I was winning until a teacher stopped us and the guys ran away and so did Tori. I was left there to talk to the teacher myself. Since the guys ran away, I got suspended for the whole thing. The next Saturday night, I snuck into each of their houses and lets jut say it was a bloody massacre. Obviously I didn't get away with it, but don't worry, I've changed here. I'm different. I'm better." he said as I saw a tear run down his face.

"Matt, it's ok, it's in the past now." I said as he started sobbing.

"No it's not what happened to my friends, it's Tori. I've lost her forever. Let's face it, none of us are getting out of this shit hole, at least not alive. She's gone. Forever." he said getting quiet at the last part. He walks over to me and hugs me really tight.

"It's ok Matt. We are all gonna get out of here. I promise you." I say and he picks his head up ad looks me in the eyes. Damn his eyes were pretty. Next thing I know, he leans in and kisses me.

He comes out of the kiss and looks me in the eyes again.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry for doing that please forgive me I didn't man to do that it just kind of happened you reminded me of Tori please forgi-"

"It's ok Matt." I said with a smile as he got red.

"Everyone, lights out" said the guard.

"Well, I'll see you in the morning, goodnight Meghan."

"Goodnight Matt."
