Jasmine's P.O.V.:

The same day as the first 2 chapters...
~Zhe First Day of School~

"Oh dear, oh dear," I mutter to myself as I wander around my room. What should I wear? What should I say? What if I do something wrong? Yeah, yeah. Don't leave me alone with nothing to do or else I have too many random questions.

But I don't have time to care for that. What if what I wear is too... Boring. Or maybe too flashy. Or too... formal? Casual? WHAT SHOULD I DO?!?!?!?!

Wait. I was popular in my old school. Hahahahaha... It's fine, it's fine. I should be fine in this new school too, right? After all, Aliyah is there. And Kylie. I'm safe... All I need to do is show how I am! And I won't be shunned.

Yeah, yeah that's what I'll do. I grab a few drawing pads, notebooks, and manga books in my bag. Hey, I get bored overly easily.

I rush to school, which--I admit--wasn't quite necessary. I was quite early.

I met up with Aliyah and I saw that she was wearing her normal clothes. Sporty, but fashionable. I wore casual clothes, but I actually put my hair up with a hair tie with a tiny blue and orange rose clip.

Ouran Highschool Host Club, of course. What do you think I am, crazy?

Just as we were wondering where Kylie was, she sprints next to us. Perfect, everyone is here.

~Biology 101~

Oh dang. My friends are elsewhere. And I'm in the front. I mean, that's good and all, due to my horrid eyesight, but now I can't doodle. Well... I guess I can make friends?

I look to my left and to my right. They were looking forward with concentrated eyes. I don't want to label anyone but... Nerds. That's what you call them. I sigh and sink down in my seat. At least there are smart people to cover me from the teacher. Kinda. To my left is a boy and to my right is a girl so at least I have variety.

"Ok , what occurs in the phase 'Anaphase' .... James?"

The guy next to me sat up straighter and begin to answer.

"That is the phase where the cells are separating."

"I am sorry. You must be thinking of Telophase. Who would like to answer? Jasmine?"

The teacher called on me just when I was about to take out a sketch pad, so I jolted up and focused on the question as I slowly processed what I needed to say.
Ok, I got this in the bag. I covered it in 7th grade. I am fine. Come on. I know I was in a private school and this is a public school, but they should've covered this, right?

"Anaphase is when the duplicated genetic matter that was carried into the nucleus starts to pull apart."

"That is correct, Jasmine."

The guy next to me, James, started glaring at me. Seriously, if looks could kill, I would be dead a thousand times over.

"Can I help you with something?" I politely ask him.

"No." He rudely replied and turned back to the book in front of him.

"Geez, I got one question right. Stop pretending like your world just fell apart."

"Shut up and mind your own business smart@$$."

"If I am the smart@$$ here, you are the dumb@$$," I say, grinning.

I could see his ears grow red from rage but he kept quiet. Good.

"Ooh I like you,"  stated the girl next to me, "but chill with the swear words next time."

"And you are?"

"My name is Clarissa. Pleasure to meet you."

"Well, you already know my name but I am Jasmine."

"Well, Jasmine, welcome to the 'nerds'." Clarissa welcomes, putting the word "nerds" in air quotes.

"Yeah--um--okay." I smiled back at her. "And also, I'm sorry about the swear words. But I needed to refer to his 'insult.'"

The funniest part was that James was hearing our conversation and growing redder because we were pretending like he didn't exist. His ears were turning even redder, if that were possible. I pay attention to detail, okay?Well either way, this worked out in my favor! I bet an awesome year is starting!
