"I don't know Doctor Rogers..." Chlow said in a quiet voice, slowly turning to look into his face. He bit his lip while thinking the boat her on the head.
"Okay, Chlow I'm going to give you another pill, but don't worry it's only to help you sleep till tomorrow. Then we can talk after you've calmed." He explained to her, patting her shoulder a bit to make her feel safe. He began walking to the door, grabbing the door knob. Before he walked back he turned back at her. "Please be careful till I get back" he whispered just loud enough for her to hear, he left the room.
"And I'm alone again..." Chlow said quietly to her self, she scooted away from the corner of her room, then got up. She walked to her bed and sat down. She couldn't think after that. She tried to remember what she was thinking about before the claw illusion, but she just couldn't.
"Who says you're alone?...." A raspy dark voice said, she slowly turned around to look. She didn't feel as much fear as you think, because she kept telling herself it wasn't real just like the bugs or claw. Once she turned all the way around she saw a towering figure. It had a fox mask with soulless eyes, and it had a long cloak that hooded the rest of its body including the head. It had no sleeve or arm holes so Chlow assumed they were under the cloak. "Hello missy..." It said, moving closer.
"H-hello" she replied in a scared voice. Her hands began to sweat her knees shook slightly.
"Do not be afraid child... I am Mortem" the cloaked figure exclaimed while walking around the bed to the other side, to get a better look at her.
"M-m-Mortem?" She stuttered out a reply. Her eyes followed the slow moving masked man. She didn't want to freak out, she didn't want to alert the doctors again.
"I see they think your mad. But my child you're just gifted..." Mortem said, a small red glint in the eyes less mask. Chlow became confused. Her drops of fear turned straight to curiosity.
"Gifted?" She asked, he nodded once and sat on her bed next to her. His eyeless mask stared straight into her dull eyes.
"The reason your pills do not stop the visions is because they're for the wrong thing... You are not crazy... You are gifted to see the alternate realities upon this one..." His voice was serious. Chlow was obviously confused but he didn't show any signs of clarifying.
"Other realities?" She stared at him "are you from a different reality" she asked in wander.
"Yes, but I am in your reality right now. The other visions you've been seeing is the other realities being put over this one..." He explained in a low voice. "I am sorry Chlow dear, this must be hard on you. You are only eleven..."
"How do you know how old I am?..." She grew a bit more fear when he knew things about her like her age and name.
"Why Chlow I know a lot about you. Because you have the gift I was assigned to watch over you. But now you're here, and they are leading you away from the truth." He patted her head as if he was a parent, and Chlow could just feel a smile behind the secretive mask. "And you must remember before you were here. I was your imaginary friend for a while... But I did not look like this. You would have ran screaming if I looked of this and tried to talk to you when you were five.." He said with a small chuckle at the idea. Chlow stared at the eyes of the mask, and tried to remember. He could tell she couldn't. "What kind of medicine have they put to you for you not to remember such a fun childhood." He asked, his laughs subsiding and turning into worried stern tones. He pat her head once more and leaned close to Chlow's ear. "I will talk tomorrow friend. Do not forget our meeting." With that he vanished, and she quickly turned her gaze at the door opening. The old doctor walked in quietly, and kneeled down to her. He held out his hand that had a glass of water and the sleeping pill.
"Here you go. Take it and sleep well" he said as Chlow slowly grabbed the drink from him, taking a drink the outing the pill in. And everything went blurry in her head. She could see the old mans outline take the glass of water and leave the room silently. And all of sudden, she felt herself fall backwards onto her bed and pillows, and it blacked out.
