"Mom, I don't want to go to school!"

"Louis, you have to so you can get a good education and make friends. C'mon now, get out of bed," my mom says while pulling me out of bed. "You are four now, you must go."

"Okay," is all I say while pulling off my power ranger pajamas and putting on my new school clothes. My mom gives me breakfast and helps me to put on my little bag pack and I am out the door. We drive to the school and go to the classroom. My mom gives me a long hug good bye, and I see a tear roll down her cheek. She takes a picture of me, and I see another mom come towards her with a tissue. She seems around the same age as my mom and I see them talking. She then points to another small boy, and I see my mom come towards me.

"Sweetie, why don't you go talk to that boy over there. His name is Harry and he, like you, is nervous and wants a friend. Okay?"

"Okay mommy," I say. I then give her my last goodbye and she says she will see me in a few hours and tells me to be good. She leaves with the lady she was talking to and I walk to Harry who is coloring with colored pencils. I grab a piece of paper and a red colored pencil, my favorite color, and Harry looks at me as I sit down. He has green eyes and the curliest hair. He was not really paying attention to what he was doing with the orange pencil because he was staring at me, and pressed down too hard and it broke.

"Oops," said Harry.

"Hi," is all I said to the boy Harry with curly hair and green eyes.

Present Day

I wake up and forget where I am for a second. I flutter my eyes a little, and remember I am in my old room. I start to smell eggs and bacon and hop out of bed to make my way down the stairs. Lottie is already up and my mom is making breakfast.

"Good morning. How did you sleep?" my mom asks while looking for something in the cabinets.

"Alright. Do we have any tea?" I ask.

"That's what I'm actually looking for right now. I don't think I have any. Do you mind running down to the store and grabbing some after you eat?" my mom asks.

"Alright," I say. I need something to wake me up this morning.

I quickly eat breakfast and then grab the keys and get into the car. I drive to the convenience store that is only a couple miles away. I walk in and grab a box of Yorkshire tea, my favorite. I go to grab the box, but so does someone else. We awkwardly touch hands, and I look up to see who it is, and am met with familiar emerald green eyes.

"Louis," I hear him say quietly. Our eyes meet and it is like we are stuck in some sort of trance for a few seconds, but they feel like forever, and I get this weird feeling in my tummy that I haven't felt since I was little.

"Hi Harry," I say. I was not expecting to see him.

"What are you doing here?" he asks me.

"I'm here for Coach Harlocks funeral," I tell him. He nods his head and mouths the word oh.

"Same, such a shame he had to go. Heart attack too, which just makes it worse. God couldn't even make such a great man go peacefully," he says looking down at his boots. He looks back at me, and he hasn't changed much. His hair has gotten a lot longer and he has definitely gotten taller. But still seems like the same old Harry.

"So is it true you went to law school?" I ask so I can change the topic. I don't like talking about sad things for too long.

"Ya and I'm working at a law firm now. You?" he asks, and I'm afraid to answer. I didn't go to college and I don't have a fancy nice job like him, so I just give him a short, kinda honest answer.

"I've been writing a bit," I tell him, which isn't a lie. I like to write music in my free time. It is relaxing. "and I have a job at a restaurant," I tell him, which is also true. Dominos is a restaurant.

"Oh nice. Are you still with, uh what's his name? Alex?" I ask.

"Andrew, and no. I called it off a few months ago."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," I say. He looks sad, must have been a bad relationship.

"You got quite a few tats now, I've been thinking of getting one, but I don't know," he tells me, and I notice him staring at my arms like as if he's studying me.

"I think you should get one," I tell him, wanting this conversation to end now. "I gotta get going, I'll see you tomorrow," I say, walking away from him, hoping he will not ask anything.

"Louis, wait!" he yells. Ugh, what does he want now? "I have a question. What happened to us? We were such good friends, then all of a sudden you left and ignored me."

I was not sure what he was going to say to me, but it was not this. I am unsure on what to say. So I just give him the truth. "People change, and I was one of those people. You should be happy I left, you're better off without me," I say. He looks confused but just sighs.

"Okay Louis, I'll see you tomorrow. Bye." Harry walks out of the store, and I watch him drive away. For a second I thought I saw a tear roll down his face, but I know it was just my eyes fooling with me. I check out and head home, thinking of the awkward situation over and over in my head.
