Ain't playing that game(Prt 1)

Melissa's pov

On Friday after school, I went home to take a shower. After taking a shower I decided to put some fresh clothes on since, I was going to see my mom in the hospital where she works. My mom comes home late at night and leaves early in the morning, and when she's finally home, im usually at school. So I can only say good morning to her. When I visit her job.

I miss her and her affection. I live with my mom, my brother Ethan (he's 19), and my cousin Carter (he's 20). While i was thinking all of this, I started to feel tired, so I decided to take a nap before I left to visit my mom.

My ex boyfriend, "Jayden has wanted me back for so long to the point where I can't even remember". Every time "he sees me he always tells me how much he misses me and how he's sorry for what he did, he always tells me that if he can take it back" he would but what kind of person would that make me if I forgave him and get back together with him?

The thing is he cheated on me with one of my good friend Alexa. He was my first love. In return for his and my so called "friend" actions i got a broken heart. Really!

*Flash Back*
I was in eighth grade and our English teacher assigned us as a pair to do a project. It was a good opportunity for me since I had a crush on him last year.
He got me sweaty and nervous and shit. I think he was too because at first he was stuttering when we were having a conversation about our project.

A funny thing is, I caught him starring at me at the corner of my eyes but I pretended I didn't see him. I think he knew I saw him staring at me but I acted neutral anyways.
Sooner or later we got comfortable with each other.

We worked hard in our project even though he would played around sometimes. Good thing we got it done and got an A. I was happy with the grade our teacher gave us and I think he was too cuz he usually got B's and rarely A's since he played around too much.

We got always along pretty good through out our project and he asked me out a week after. We started dating. It was great and we got closer. After school we always hung out either watch movies or just do some fun activities.
He was a great boyfriend and whenever I was with him I couldn't ask for more. Of course we would get to our little fights but everything always went back to normal. I guess it was just our love for each other.

Then in the summer I had to go to a family vacation to France
We were still in contact though, we always text or called each another do our bf and gf talk, guess what he did?

Naturally it was too good to be true he blew it, he cheated with Alexa. Adriana her best friend called me and told me what they've been doing behind my back. I called Jayden right away asked him if everything i was told are all true, he said he's sorry but i told him "we are done" he can be with Alexa now. "He begged me and i told once I'm done, i move on".

Alexa and i are not good friend anymore but we still talk say hi and bye never have a real conversation.
*End of flash back*

I left the house on my way to the hospital and i saw Jayden, he was always on my block and it freaked me out because
ever since i broke up with him, he got involved with gangs and stuff and he's lot different now. Whenever i see him, i always think one day he's going to do something bad to me but i put the thought away cuz Ethan and Carter are too involving in gangs.

The gang called the "ARTICHOKE KING". "They are the biggest gang in the hood, the most dangerous".
The thing I like about them is that "they got each other's back at anytime and any situation". "They'll ride or die for their friends, they have a good connection and the Artichoke live as a family, I kind of look up to them on the better side.
