Chapter 13

Niou sat on one of the bleachers as he finished his match against a Court 2 member. It was easy, thanks to the hellish training they did on the mountain. He was glad that they're back at the camp, because, one, to show his teammates how strong he has gotten. Two, to take a rest from the tiring training up on the mountain. And three, to see Riyanna.

The silver haired teen sat at the sidelines watching his fellow black jersey-ed teammates play against the other members of the court. As Niou watched them, he caught a glimpse of  brown hair. Turning his head to where he saw it, a smile graced his face, almost immediately, when he saw it was Riyanna. His eyes then flickered to the redhead beside her, and the smile turned into a scowl.

Niou growled lowly, not wanting anyone to hear him, when he caught sight at their locked hands. He heard a chuckle beside him, so he moved his head and saw Seigaku's Tensai. "Someone looks jealous." Fuji commented. Niou rolled his eyes, "I'm not jealous." Fuji chuckled, "I didn't say you were. I said 'someone.'" He said. Niou ignored him and folded his arms .

"Nya~ What's your relationship with Ochibi's sister, Niou?" A chirpy voice joined in. "Eiji." Fuji greeted with his usual smile. The trickster remained silent and focused his gaze on Riyanna.

"It's not nice to ignore your teammates, Niou." A smooth voice stated. The rat tail-ed boy turned to face whoever spoke the sentence. "Yukimura." He greeted with a smirk. The blue-haired captain chuckled, "Nice to see you have made quite a progress on your training." Yukimura said.

Niou smirked, "Oh yeah? Maybe I can beat you in a match." Niou joked. "No you can't!" Someone yelled. Everyone in the group looked at the direction where the yell came from, and found Rikkai's Ace crossing his arms with a wide smirk. "And I can't because...?" Niou said with an eyebrow raised in amusement.

Akaya gave a smug smile, "You have to beat me first, before you can beat Buchou!" He said as he pointed his thumb to his chest. "I can already beat you, Bakaya." Niou smugly replied. Akaya's eye twitched and a vein popped in annoyance upon hearing Niou's nickname for him. "Don't call me 'Bakaya!'" Akaya yelled.

The small group laughed as the two began bickering. "Niou, you never answered Eiji's question." Fuji butt in. Niou closed his mouth when the words exited Fuji's mouth. Akaya tilted his head like what a puppy would, "What did he ask?" He questioned.

"I asked him what's his relationship with Ochibi's sister, nya~" Eiji joined in. Yukimura and Akaya turned to look at Niou with an almost blank look. Not very surprisingly, Niou also had the same blank look on his face. The Seigaku regulars stared at the three, while the other two stared at Niou and the said boy stared at the four of them.

They had a little stare-off, gaining the others' attention. Without them knowing, some went near them to either eavesdrop or ask them what's happening. Niou then realized none of them are backing down, and decided to answer the acrobatic player.

"She was my girlfriend."

Eiji blinked and let the information sink in. When it did, he let out a disbelieving yell with his eyes as wide as plates. Beside him, Fuji simply chuckled as if he saw it coming.

"I did not expect the 'was' in your statement." Yukimura mused. Eiji looked at him confusedly. "What were you expecting then?" Niou asked rhetorically. "A lie?" He added. The Rikkai Captain shrugged as he chuckled, "Well, yes, I was. I was expecting you would say that Riyanna is your girlfriend, not was your girlfriend."

Eiji let out another yell, "You used to be Ochibi's sister's boyfriend?!" He exclaimed, making heads turn their way. Including Riyanna and Kenneth.
