It was too cold to go outside, but that didn't stop me from doing what I had planned to do. Some call me stupid for sticking with my schedule even at the worst of times and others call me responsible, but my best friend Bells, calls me weird. It was expected considering how lazy she is.

I reached the library, shivering  from the cold. Today was Saturday and I spend my time here on every saturday. It's the only day of the week that I get to escape from reality, also from crazy Bells. Walking inside, I made my way towards the counter, where an elderly lady, also known as Kelly sat behind the it. Kelly was a welcoming lady who made everyone open up to her with that warm smile of hers. She was a petite woman with brunette hair and golden spectacles residing on her nose, just between the eyes.

"Kiera honey! Such a long time! Where have you been hiding young lady?" Kelly playfully scolds me as she notices me.

I smile at her. I'm a regular person at this library. Kelly and I have become close enough and she practically sees me as her daughter. Not that I'm complaining, everyone would want a person like Kelly as their mother. She's really friendly and unserstanding.

"Hey Kells, I wasn't hiding, was merely sick." I explain to her about my absence for almost two weaks.

"Sick? Omg! How? When did this happen? And why didn't you tell me?" Kelly demands, ending the sentence with a scowl.

I chuckle. See? She's an amazing lady! Always worried about everyone!

"Nothing much Kells, just a flu, I recovered, but then I had to complete my homework that I missed out on being absent, so couldn't come here." I say and Kelly offers me a smile.

"Well, I'm glad you're here now." Kelly says, adjusted her spectacles.

I nod at her before taking in the almost empty library. Very few people were present but it wasn't a surprising sight. Not many come to the library on a saturday morning and in such a cold weather. Except me of course, I'm exceptional.

"I've got that book you asked me, here." Kelly says.

I look at her outstreched hand and grinned, looking at book I requested Kelly to get three weaks ago. Looks like she hadn't forgotten.

"Thanks!" I chirp happily at Kelly taking the book, The Great Gatsby, from her hand.

Kells smiles at me before ushering me off, knowing that I've been dying to read that book for a while now.

Chuckling, I make my way towards the seat placed at the corner of the room. This seat has been reserved for me ever since I started coming here. It was far away where no one could be seen, except for the people that pass by. It gives me soltitude, the only thing I like while reading a book. Well, apart from coffee of course!

After an hour, I loose myself in the book that I barely hear Kelly calling out to me. When I notice her standing in front of me with a knowing grin, I smile sheepishly at her. She knows damn well how I get lost inside the book, being unaware of my surroundings.

"Here's your coffee darling." Kelly says and hands me the mug. I smile up at her. She knows me very well. This place sells coffee too, but Kelly offers me a free cup of coffee everytime I come over here. I tried paying her in the beginning, but she always hands it back to me. Eventually I gave up and started savouring the hot coffee while reading.

"Thanks Kells." I return with a smile before she walks away, leaving me alone.

I leaned back in my chair and sighed of contentment as I again get lost in the book.

If only I could spend the rest of my life this way.
