"Grey?"

"Hey Kiera, what's up?" Grey asks me with a dazzling smile, making my heart flutter at the sight.

Grey is the epitome of perfection with his jet black hair and emerald green eyes that when stared into makes you feel as if he knows all of your deep dark secrets. He's well built and has a smile that could capture a thousand hearts. If it wasn't for the fact that he always keeps to himself, he would've been surrounded by a hundreds of female fans. They all admire and keep gushing about him from afar, but no one dares to have a conversation with him as he comes off as intimidating. I thought that about him too, but when I got to know him, I know he's nothing but a teddy bear at heart. Suddenly reminded of his question, I raise an eyebrow at him "What do you mean what's up? What are you doing here late at night?"

Grey smiles "I could ask you the same."

"Fair enough." I reply with a grin. If he's just as crazy as me to come out over here late at night, then I'm not complaining.

We swing quietly for a while. I could feel the tension in the silence. I glance at Grey and I could feel that he wants to say something but doesn't.

"Here, take this." Grey says and hands me his leather jacket.

"Grey I.."

"You're cold." Grey cuts me off and wraps the jacket around me.

Feeling a little warm I tug on his arm. "What about you?"

Grey smiles down at my hand clutching onto his arm. Blushing , I quickly remove my hand from his arm. "I'll survive."

I nod at him with a smile as we both start swinging again. It wasn't the first time that Grey had draped his jacket over my shoulders. He had always been there when I needed him. He had been there for me since the beginning. Whether it be for him to hand me an extra pen or to save me from the teachers wrath by doing my homework or to buy me an icecream when I wasn't in a good mood. It wasn't that we were best friends. No. He just happened to be around whenever I needed help or when I was feeling bad. He comes and disappears. But this is the first time that he's here with me at night. It's strange, our connection, but I'm glad I have him in my life as a friend, even if Bells says that we're more than friends. He might make me feel butterflies in my stomach whenever he's close, but that's just it. I could never will myself to feel anything more for him. It's impossible and it's an illusion.

"Wanna talk about it?" Grey questions me breaking me free of my thoughts.

I shake my head at him.

Grey nods "Okay, but remember, I'm here for you."

I smile at him "Always." This is what I love about Grey. He not one to pressurise anyone. Even if I never say anything to me, he stays with me in silence. Like he is now, swinging with me late at night speaking nothing but giving me company. And his company is all that I need.

Deciding that I've had enough of swinging and now that my mood is no longer in the dark, I stand up and turn towards Grey, who's stilll swinging quietly.

"Let's go?" I ask him.

Grey smiles up at me before standing and I swear my heart skiped a beat at his smile. I push the thoughts away.

We walk back to my house in silence. Grey lives a few blocks away from my house.

When we've reached my house, I turn towards Grey and hug him. I feel him tense as he slowly put his arms around me, returning my hug.

It wasn't the first time that I've hugged him, but he always tenses whenever I do. Bells says that's because he likes me but as always, I ignore her, refusing to think about it.

"Goodnight Kiera." Grey says and leans forward. My breath hitched in anticipation. What is he doing? What are you doing Grey?

I began panicking and my hands become sweaty. Grey leans in closer and places a soft kiss on my cheek.

He leans back and takes a look at my blushing face. With a smile, he turns and walks away.

Still stunned, I bring my fingers to my cheek, remembering the softness of his lips against my cheek. Swallowing thickly, I make my way quietly towards my room in a trance.

Only then did I realise that he left his jacket behind.
