Ode To Antony
Oh great Marc Antony,
born in Rome.
You have left your mark,
ever greater upon the world.
Many words describe thee, hence you were
a man of many things, talents, and ideas.
As great as your legend are deeds so simple
they stain upon thine reputation in this ever changing world.
Yet great general, your skills adored but hated
at the same time have truly inspired such
future generals after you.
Adored by great Kings and Queens,
with the wealth of millions you were surely on top
Working hard to climb the ladder of power
as both general and politician you were a role-model to many.
You had the looks, personality, attitude
you were meant to be on top and you knew it.
Oh but sure, he had it all didn't he?
From a well respected family and
ample funds, youth spent lavishly
without a care in the world.
It seemed so.
Great cousin of Caesar, did you truly have it all or was
there trouble brewing in the undergrowth but with you unaware?
Cleopatra, Fulvia, And Octavia fateful to each for such
short times yet only one caught thy heart in a fierce grip and
wouldn't let go. Foolish soldier, you let your heart be taken
and with it your life.
Love so great, passion so powerful. lust so undeniable
it was just begging to be destroyed.
This love, an explosive one, led to your demise
oh great Marc Antony.
