Chapter 5

I still remember the day I got in broadway and auditioned for the role of 'Cat Valentine' on Victorious. It was so long ago, yet, I can never forget it. It changed my whole life. But the best part of it is. It changed me.

It's been a few months since the events. Months since I've seen them. Months since I've been to Florida, to my old school. We moved to LA after the divorce. It was hard at first to accept it but, I coped and then got used to it. I'm fifteen now, and I was on broadway just two years ago. I met a lot of friends, and gained another bully. She was jealous of me, cause I got a better voice than her. But I, already went through it, fought back.

And now, I'm here sitting with hundreds of girls waiting to audition for the role in the new Nicklodeon teen-sitcom 'Victorious'. Honestly, I'm not mentally prepared for this. I'm nervous like heck,a dnmy hands are shaking. Good thing I got my brother and best friend, Alexa, with me to wait. A few girls came in and out, and before you know it, I was next. As soon as they called my name, I took three deep breaths, just like I do back then, it's a nervous habit, held my script in my trembling hands and went in.

"Hi, I'm Ariana Grande, and I will be auditioning for the role of Cat Valentine" I say, they motioned me to go. Victoria Justice, the main star of the show, read her lines, then it was my turn "My name's Cat" I imitate my soft and bubbly voice. I'm really good with impressions, "Oh like the animal" she says, "What's that supposed to mean?!" acting offended, "Oh nothing, it's just, I love cats" Victoria reads, "Oh yeah me too" then at the scene, Cat is suppose to walk away.

"Can you sing?" I nod, "Someday I'll let you in, treat you right, drive you outta your mind oh. You never met a chick like me, Burn so bright, I'm gonna make you blind. You better believe that I'm here to stay. You're the shade and I'm the sunshine" I sing, then I belt some harmonies and notes "Give it up" I finish.

"Okay" the producer says, "Great audition, and we will contact you if there's news" I smile and say thanks, then walk out of the room with a weight lifted of my chest.

"How did It go?" they ask me, we were now eating at Starbucks, "Well, I think. I dont know. They said that they'll contact me as soon as they get the news" they nodded and continued eating.

It's been weeks since I've auditioned, there's no news yet, but we're still waiting. I am freaking out, I really want this and I really need this. I've always wanted to become a singer, but I'll try as an actress first and see where it takes me.

Riiiiinggg... Ringggg...

I jump out of bed and look at my now ringing phone that interupted my thoughts. I answer it, hearing the writer and producer, Dan Schneider's voice. \

"Hi, is this Ariana Grande?" he ask, "Yes" inside I am screaming my heart out. "Congratulations, you've got the part of Cat Valentine" Oh. My. God. "omg, thank you so much" I felt like I'm gonna cry. "You're audition was great, and you have an amazing voice, and we'd like to have you. I'll text you the details of the first shoot and the first reading" I thank again, and hung up. I screamed my lungs out in happiness. I jump and dance around my bed. My family heard my scream and quickly went to my room.

"Ari, why are you screaming?"

"I got the part!" I said, "You got the part?" they say surprised and happy, "Yeah, Dan Schneider just called me. I got the part in Victorious" we all celebrated. At the end, I couldn't stop but cry. Alexa was really happy for me, and she sent her love from Florida. When I was finally alone, after celebrating and eating outside, I lay on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I'm really happy, and I know that this will chnage my whole life. I close my eyes, thinking of everything I've been through, and just remincing how grateful I am. I blink out tears of joy, I got the part.
