Seconds in the car seemed like hours. My mind focusing on seeing Cody later. I'm literally going to my first high school party. Tyler must be able to tell that I'm lost in my head but doesn't seem to mind it. Instead, he raises the music louder and focuses on the road. My thoughts, although, are louder than the singer on the radio. What if I actually do talk to him? Would he even know who I am? No of course not. I have Chem class with him but I sit all the way in the back. The teachers even know I sit in the back but don't really mind it. What if he turns out to be nothing like who I thought he was?

My mind is filled with "what if.." and "but.." which is only making me even more nervous. Tyler must have guessed how nervous I was feeling, the sickening kind of nervous.

"It's gonna be fine, Em," he smiles still not turning away from the road.

"But, what if I get lost?" I'm honestly a clumsy person sometimes. It's possible. "I heard there was gona be a pop quiz on monday!" I lie. Ty can tell I lied because my voice cracked in the middle of my words. My convincing skills need more work. Tyler, however, can make murdering someone sound like a good thing, which scares me sometimes.

"You won't. I'll be with you the whole time, and if in thirty minutes you don't like it then we'll leave and have a Netflix night." I looked up at him after the words "Netflix night' and am not surprised by the sly grin that had appeared on his lips.

"Don't bribe me!" I playfully punch his arm.

"Yes or no?" He simply says.

"Fine." I frown.

Moments later we pull up to a familiar wide building and my hands began to shake. I haven't been to the mall in so long. My mother usually comes and just sends me pictures of some things she likes and choose the ones I like. Thankfully, Ty is good at this shopping stuff.

Two hours later, Tyler and I had one bag, tired feet, and no dress. We were about to quit our journey to find "the dress" before I saw a black lace dress in a store window. I read the sign "Soul Cycle."

"Hey, Ty?" I ask curiously.

"Yeah?" he replied.

"I like that one." I innocently point to the black dress at the window. My eyes follow his head as it turns to face the dress soon glowing with how big his smile is.

"That's the one!" he jumped so high that everyone around us turned heads making Tyler's face become a tomato. "That would look so good on you!" He screams in a whisper not wanting to attract the same attention. I couldn't help but laugh. I always laugh around Tyler.

"Shall we, then?" I position my hands and body towards the store door and Tyler soon passes me up to enter.

We are greeted, "Hello welcome to Soul Cycle, my name is Adriana let me know if you need anything," followed by a smile.

Tyler and I immediately going for the dress I had seen and dashing towards the changing room. This was the last size of the dress so it better fit. After a long day roaming around the mall I at least need to walk out this place with what I came here for. By now I wasn't nervous, more like tired.

I walk in the dressing room and quickly try on the dress. It flowed down to my knees and didn't hug my body too much which was a good thing for me although, Tyler might complain. I loved the black lace and how it was everywhere on the dress. That minor thing was something I could get over though. This dress was beautiful. I took my phone out and made a pose in the mirror and quickly snapped the picture. I never take selfies so it wasn't as good but it's not like anyone would see it besides me so I was fine.

I walk out to see Tyler on his phone but he looks up once he hears the rings of the blue curtain scrape against the grey poll.

"Wow. That's amazing!" his eyes lit up. I wasn't surprised with his reaction. This was definitely a huge step from skinny jeans and a hoodie.

"I know," I squeal then realize that might have been a little impolite so I correct myself "I mean umm.. thank you."

"Emma you damn right better know your rockin it!" He smiles knowing what he just said.

"Did you just say 'rockin it?'" I laugh so hard that I feel my nose scrunch up and and have to cover my mouth with my hand.

"Yes I just did." he covers his mouth too with how loud he was laughing. Our disturbance earns a glare from the worker but they just shrug and return to their duties.

"Can I get it?" I smile. I haven't checked the price yet which doesn't seem below thirty dollars at all.

"Of course!" he claps and sits back down knowing I can't pay for the dress while I still have it on. Although, I wish I could because I'm "rockin it."

After I change out of the dress, and back into the boring clothes I was wearing. I walk up the cashier with the dress on the hanger and she simply smiles as she rings up the dress.

"Did anyone help you today?" her eyes not lifting from the computer screen.

"Adriana," I luckily remembered her name.

"Okay, Your total is $115.99" she reveals my total and my mouth drops. 115 dollars?! For a piece of fabric with lace on it! I do need this dress though. I hand her my money and walk out the store. I felt on top of the word leaving the mall knowing our mission was successful.

"Want me to drop you off now? tomorrow is Saturday." Saturday was also the night of the party which he knew.

"Yeah." I was looking forward to just taking a long nap.

"Did today cheer you up?" He grinned.

"Aye, aye captain!" I smiled referring to his odd pirate behavior back at Frankie's. I didn't lie. Today was fun. I always enjoy spending time with Tyler. I hope I never lose him. I don't know what I would do.
