This is a short story I'm working on! I hope you kittens enjoy it!
Dusk's pov:
No...no...no! She had to stop this!
The scene before her was horrid. That...that demon...no! Nightmare! Nightmare! She had to save her sister from the creature! The only thing was, that creature had destroyed her, she was trapped, trapped in this lair of dreary darkness. No, she had to get out!
She pressed her hands against the barrier, a translucent figment of her pain and fear. The more she witnessed, the thicker it grew. She got out her blade, and smashed it against the wall. She did this, over and over, the more she did, the more the storm grew outside.
The monster feints left, tricking Nightmare. It claws Nightmare deeply, causing her to vomit her own blood. Dusk screamed, the purple static grow to an unbearable burn. She felt something, deep within her, snap. She was out for blood.
Her sword changed into a weapon of massive power, her unstable condition powering. She could feel herself change as well. She saw her reflection, and gazed into her no longer purple eyes. All of the purple on her had become a neonish green, her demons eye green pupiled with a burning anger of the same color escaping.
She grinned like a maniac, hitting the barrier with all of her emotion. It broke, all of the darkness inside escaping from its hellishness.
Dusk lunged for the demon, catching it off guard. Nightmare laid on the ground, fainted, and in desperate need of medical attention. Dusk didn't even notice her suffering, and went straight for the creature that had caused her so much suffering. It would pay, oh so dearly, it would die.
She skinned it alive, enjoying the screams of pain it omitted as is blood swept over her in a warm, sticky tide. She stuck her sword straight in its eye, it's blood staining her fair skin. She laughed. This was fun. Kekekekeke...
Finally, she noticed her fallen sister, her senses coming back to her. Tears mixed with the blood and rolled down her face like a tsunami. Her silent sobs drowning out any malice she felt. She had killed the creature, at the cost of her sister's life, a price to steep for her.
She clawed at her own eyes, attempting to rip them from her skull. She screamed her horror into the night, but it didn't respond. She felt guilt, sorrow, and pain team up and kill her spirit. She felt so alone...Luna...Shade...Dawn...Nightmare...her humanness... all of them had died by the hands of this one creature. She wished she could turn back time and save her sister, and herself.
It was all her fault too. If only she had...and if she hadn't... Dusk grabbed her sword, it wasn't fair if she survived in a world full of death. She raised the sword to her neck and...lowered it. Death was to easy an escape, she deserved to suffer, to feel her sisters pain. To live with the guilt that would kill her from the inside.
She suddenly felt as if she was being watched, and turned around. She didn't quite make it, as a scythe plunged into her side. The last thing she saw was big, green moon eyes before the darkness engulfed her once more...
