"Hi, I'm Max! I hope you ladies don't mind me sitting here!" the blond boy said as he sat down next to Forest. Forest's mother was sitting on her other side, next to the window, and looked up to smile at him.

"No, not at all! I'm Regina, and this is my daughter Forest!" Forest looked up, staring at him for a moment, before shaking his hand.

Forest was sitting in between Max and her mother, wearing a black, layered high low skirt, with a band t-shirt, a  leather jacket, and heeled combat boots that went to her ankles. She had her legs crossed, immersed in a book.

"Is this your first time flying?" Max asked. Forest looked up, piercing him with her green eyes.

"Yes, I'll probably sleep through half of it, though." Forest said, turning back to her book. Max grinned at her.

"It's my first time, too! I'm going to Wyoming to live with my uncle. How 'bout you? Why are you going to Wyoming?" Max asked.

"We're going to live with some friends of my mom's for a while." Forest never looked up from her book. "What time is it?" she asked, pausing in her reading to look up at him.

"Um...it's twelve o'clock." Max answered, looking down at his phone.

Forest got a bottle of water from a flight attendant. She pulled out the medicine her doctor had given her and took it.

An hour later, Forest was sound asleep, her head on Max's shoulder. He grinned down at her, gently pulling the book out of her hands and marking the page she was on, before closing it.

There was a car waiting for Forest and her mother at the airport. Forest slept through the whole ride  to the Blackwood mansion. It was eleven o'clock by the time they got there. Mr. Blackwood carried Forest up to her room, her mother following behind.

"I am so sorry about this! Forest is usually a very light sleeper!" Regina exclaimed.

"It's fine, really! I bet you're both tired after your long flight here!" Mrs. Blackwood exclaimed, showing Regina to her room.

                                                            ************************************************

Forest woke up at five o'clock in the morning. She got up, took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, and was ready by six o'clock. She sat in her room and read until seven o'clock, when she had Mrs. Blackwood drive her to the school, so she could get everything settled, and be ready when school started, at eight o'clock.

                                                          ***********************************************

Forest was standing at her locker, arranging all her textbooks in a neat order, when the bell rang. Students began pouring into the hallway, going to their lockers and chatting with their friends.

Forest turned to go to her first hour class, when she saw a boy with jet black hair standing at a locker directly across the hall, his tongue shoved down the throat of a girl with an orange tan, fake blond hair, and clothes that barely covered anything.

Forest walked up behind the boy and tapped him on the shoulder. He untangled himself from the girl and turned to look at her. "Could you do me a favor and do that somewhere else?!" Forest exclaimed, giving him a sickly sweet smile.
