                                                                             The picture is Forest.

Forest woke up in the middle of the night, the sheets tangled around her legs, sweating profusely. She could feel pain all over her torso, where the burns were.

She got up, going downstairs to the kitchen, where she got her pills and a glass of water. She downed her pills before setting her glass in the sink. She turned to go back upstairs, only to find Nate standing in her way.

She stepped to the side, only for him to follow her movement. "Are you teasing me?" she asked, glaring up at him, her light green eyes looking more like those of a cat in the darkness.

"No, of course not." he chuckled, raising his hands in surrender.

She shoved past him, hissing when his elbow hit her side.  "Are you hurt or something?" he asked, catching her arm to stop her, only for her to hiss again, whirling on him.

She gave him a death glare. "Or something!" Forest snarled, gritting her teeth. She ripped her arm out of his grasp, before storming off.

He followed her all the way up the stairs, asking over and over, 'what's wrong?'

She stopped in front of the door to her room, whirling on him. "Shut up! Every time you ask that, it lessens your chances of getting to find out what it is. Leave me alone!" she stepped into her room, closing the door in his face.

Nate was awakened in the morning, on Saturday, by a knock on his door. He stumbled out of bed, managing to get to the door without mishap. He opened it to find Forest standing in front of him. She shoved a plate of food into his hands, before walking away.

She went to the door to his parents' room, picking up the two plates on the floor. She hit the door with her elbow, summoning his mother to the door. "Good morning!" she sang, handing the plates to her.

"Well, good morning to you too, Forest!" Ellen smiled at her.

Forest woke her mother and gave her a plate of food, too. Each plate had a note on it, along with the food. The note to Mr. and Mrs. Blackwood said, 'Thank you for your kindness in welcoming me and my mom into your home.'

The one to Nate said, 'I know this move was very sudden, and it's just as...weird for you as it is for me. I hope this might help to make up for it.'

   "Mrs. Blackwood-" Forest started.

"Please, call me Ellen. What is it, Honey?" Mrs. Blackwood said.

"Okay, Ellen, do you have any sewing material?" Forest asked.

"What specific kind do you need? I have tons and tons of sewing material, none of which I have used in a long time, up in the attic." Ellen said, grinning at Forest. "Why do you want sewing material, though? Most girls your age only care about their phones and other electronics!" she continued.

"Then, I guess I'm going to be surprising you a lot, Ellen! I enjoy doing lots of outdoorsy things, sewing, and many other things-I don't need to elaborate, do I?" Forest stopped to look at her for a moment.
