Reboots are kids and teens that are trained to kill and destroy for the government. At first it was only in the state of Texas now it has spread all the way to the west coast. I rebooted in San Diego. I was shot... 3 times ; in right arm, my side, and my chest, all because I was caught sneaking into Adult Camp 64 in search of a family member that I didn't even know existed, and that's all I remember. I was dead for 160 minutes before I rebooted. The higher the number the stronger you are when you come back. When I first came to the facility as a newbie people would tell me that I was almost as powerful as Wren Connolly a 178 who escaped a Texas facility and is now in some Reboot rebel group. I told them a false last name and I keep as much of a low profile as possible. For all I care they could have shot me in the head; you get shot in the head and there's no chance of rebooting for you, your dead.

"Tana, you've been staring out of the window for the past 10 minutes and you haven't even touched your food." Zoe said giving me an odd look.

"Yea... I'm not really that hungry for some reason." I said sliding my tray away from me. "Jayden you can have it if you want." I motioned to him.

"No, its okay I'm trying to stay in shape so when newbie time comes around I can be a trainer like you." he said nudging my arm.

"Newbies come in 2 days. We all know that that's never going to happen." Zoe  said laughing.

"If Tana is a trainer, I can be one too." he said getting offended.

"160 Jayden." I said raising my eyebrow.

"That doesn't mean anything, its just a number" he said sounding harsh.

"Right... just a number." I said getting up and grabbing my tray off the table.

"Where are you going? Lunch isn't over for another 20 minutes." Zoe asked motioning to the clock on the wall.

"I know but I heard they added some new weapons to our itinerary, and I wanted to check them out before everyone else makes their way there because I'm calling dibs." I said as I walked away.

In all honesty I just need to be alone for a while, I could care less about weapons I'm pretty good with just my hands. I walked to the garbage cans at the front of the cafeteria. I always got awkaward stares from people but when I would make eye contact they'd look away so I don't bother. I mean I can't say its weird because I know some of the others are afraid of me but they shouldn't be, I'm nothing to be afraid of. They think because of my number that I'm superior to them, which I'm not.

I emptied my tray and sped to the doors. A buffed moderator stepped in front of me right as I was about to open the doors.

"Do you have your pass?" he asked his voice muffled under his helmet.

"No, I didn't have time to grab it before lunch." I said with a hint of plead in my voice.

"You know your not supposed to be roaming the hall with your pass 160. Where is your destination?"

"The Weapons lodge sir." I said quietly.

"I assume you've heard about the new inventory?" he said laughing.

"Yes I have, trying to get the first look at them actually." I said rising on my tippy toes looking past him.

"I will check the camera's to make sure you reach your destination without any problems." he said stepping to the side opening the doors for me.

Higher numbers are also somewhat more monitored and watched than the lower numbers. I nodded my head and started down the hallway. I decided to take my time walking because I had no rush.

I was half way down the hallway when an intercom played overhead. I stopped to listen.

"Bot 160 please report to General Tavin's quarters... Bot 160 please report to General Tavin's quarters." The intercom silenced.

General Tavin only ever calls me when he wants me to assist on a special mission and I didn't get any notifications about a meeting on my com this morning. I began walking again now in the direction of General Tavin's HQ. Why would he want me at his office? He couldn't have found out about me leaving without a pass this quick and if he did I don't think he would be upset enough to call me to his office.

When I reached the headquarters I nodded hello to the two guards standing at the entrance as I walked in.

"Hello General." I said surprising him as he turned to face me. "I was told to report to your headquarters over the intercom."

"Yes, hello Tana."
He caught me off guard when he called me by my first name. Usually authorities call us by our numbers.
"I have a very important task I would like to ask of you but it is very much optional. I chose you for this because I believe that you are a strong soldier that is able to make the right decisions when times occur."

"My duty is to follow your rules and regulations Sir. You have not made me do anything against my own will, therefore I see no reason why I cannot perform any task you give me General."

A wicked smile spread across his face.
It was true he's never made me do anything against my will. I have no problem hunting our reboots or going on missions as crazy as that sounds. But I still don't believe that nearly any of his intentions are good. My trust for him has always been walking on a tight rope and right now it is slightly tilting to the left and its a far fall down.

"As you know every year we go to Texas to meet with other Reboot corporation's. Last year we, our corporation in particular.." he said giving himself props "..came up with the idea to spread the program to the east. Ive decided that I would bring a handful of my own reboots to the conference to show other Co Leaders how hardworking and determined you all are." he said with pride in his voice.
How could you be so proud of having children slaves work for you?

"My honors sir." I smiled back.

"I would like you to pick 3 of the best reboots to come along with you. I trust you to pick wisely." he raised his eyebrow.

"Of course General. Nothing but the best is what I wish to bring to the table."

He nodded. "You will also have two weeks to get your new trainee in shape and order as best as you can. I want you to bring them as well to show how fast our reboot training process is. I know what you are capable of and I hope you use that. That is all for now. Thank your time 160."

"Thank you sir." he nodded and I turned and let myself out.
