I just wanted to let anyone reading this know that I'm English. So although my main character is American and the story is set in Canada and America I'm writing this story in English, English not American English. ( If that makes any sense). For example instead of writing mom I'll be writing mum as that is how I've always written it. I would attempt to write in American for the purposes of the story but I'd forget at some point and it would be super confusing. So if you want to just imagine that I actually am writing mom instead of mum that would be great. I mean they do mean the same thing.
Also, please feel free to help me out with any facts about the US or Canada that I totally messed up on or should include as I want to make this story as realistic as possible and I can't research everything from my room in the middle-of-nowhere that is England.
Thanks, Laura
