"You're beautiful...but still, it ain't that type of party now..."

Genesis

3 weeks later

"I cant't believe she really cancelled on me for your best friend...who would've ever thought they would like each other so much....but I'm walking into the house now....okay, I'll text you. Alright, bye."

I was walking up my driveway from my car. I was coming back from Candace and I's coffee date we've made a monthly thing now, but due to her forgetting she made Jarvis a promise about something, she had to reschedule.

I hung up with Odell before pulling out my keys to my front door to unlock it. We talked about him and I, and came to an understanding of trying to fix what I have going on with Cameron. Odell said he would wait for me if it didn't work out, which is thoughtful but I don't want him to wait forever.

I threw my keys in the bowl by the door and walked over to the couch, plopping down. I grabbed my phone and unlocked it.

0 missed calls.
No new messages.

When I first returned from New York, still unknown to Cameron's knowledge, he was doing good for the first week. He actually kept his promise of paying attention more, but that promise was short lived once time progressed. He started staying out more, not returning my messages or calls, and I hate to say it but he doesn't want to even touch me anymore, if you know what I'm getting at. I don't know what happened...

I gave Cameron and I's relationship a lot of thought. I just felt like I've spent so much of my time with him in this relationship that it would be a shame and wrong for me to throw it all away for a new found love. I love Odell, I swear I do....I'm in love with him. But I'm in love with Cameron too, I just can't do him like that, I wouldn't want anyone do me like that ever.

I heard keys jiggling in the door, soon followed by the door opening. I watched as Cameron walked in, throwing his keys in the same bowl I threw mine in. I got up to greet him.

"Hey baby, home for lunch?" I asked him, kissing his soft lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck, only to be removed by his hands with an agitated look upon his face.

"I really just need some rest, okay Genesis? Just let me take a nap..." He breathed out. I frowned but then came up with an idea. "I can massage your back like you like, you know...so you can sleep better." I suggested. He loved it when I massaged his back, plus it always resulted in more than just a massage.

"No I think I'm good..."
"Are you sure? I can just--"
"Genesis! I said no! Damn!" He semi-yelled at me. I was startled at his sudden outburst, but more so surprised that he just denied me.

I just nodded and walked to the kitchen. He gave me one last look before walking upstairs to our bedroom, slamming the door after him.

"What happened to us?"

Candace

I was laying with my back against Jarvis on his couch, eating popcorn and watching What's Love Got To Do With It. We were having a movie marathon before he had to return to practice for off-season training.
