Old times.

I wake up from my long nap and rub my eyes with the heel of my hand. Something about sleeping during the day makes me feel grumpy, but I really needed that nap. I sit up on my bed and check the time on the clock, it's barely seven.

I stand up from the bed and grab my phone from my backpack, maybe I should give Katrina and the party a little chance. As I open my contacts I notice that Katrina never gave me her phone number, I go to my Facebook app and send her a message from there. Few minutes after that she answers and tells me she will be here in an hour.

I throw my phone on the bed and run a hand through my messy hair, it's a little greasy due to the fact that I haven't taken a shower since yesterday. I head to my bathroom and strip off my clothes, once I test the warm water I get inside the shower and relax a little. Relaxing right now isn't that much in my vocabulary. Once I'm done I grab a towel and wrap it around me, I head to my closet and scan my eyes through my clothes.

It's still a little hot outside because it's still September, even if it's night, darkness doesn't stop hotness. I grab a denim shirt and black shorts to go with it, once I'm done dressing up I put on my sandals and head to the bathroom again. I brush my hair down and put it up on a messy bun, too lazy to do anything with it. I look at my pale face and touch my cheeks, maybe makeup will help a little.

When I'm done with everything I look at myself on the mirror and roll up the sleeves of my shirt, being the fact that it's hot I didn't put an undershirt, makes me feel a little fresh.

"You look great" I hear someone at my door, I jump a little and turn around rapidly. I let out a sigh when I see that it's only Katrina, she gives me a grin and points behind her with her thumb "I let myself in, the door was unlocked, I hope you don't mind"

"You just startled me a little" I tell her, she laughs and begins walking around my room. I grab my phone from the bed and shove it behind my pocket.

"Your room is a little different" Katrina says.

"Well, it's been years" I tell her, she stops in front of a picture and I walk closer to get a better look. She grabs the frame and holds it up in her face, I notice that it's one with Mack and I, when we were freshman. She puts it back down and smiles.

"She was sure something else" she says.

"She was, after all, it's Mackenzie we are talking about" I say, I look down at the ground and close my eyes. Mackenzie was something else, she was the beautiful girl everyone wanted to be, she was the girl boys desired, and now, she disappeared into that world of dead. I bet, that even in that world, she is alive among the dead.

"Let's go, I bet the party will be super awesome!" She says, I force a grin and follow behind her as we walk downstairs. I grab the keys from the key holder hanged on the wall and close the door behind me once we are out. As I close he door I furrow my eyebrows together in confusion, didn't I lock the door? I let the thought go and follow Katrina to her car, we both get inside and she begins to drive to the party.

"You know what, I don't want to go anymore" I tell her as we get near Thomas's house, the nerves are consuming me, little by little. I cover my face with both hands and run them up to my hair.

"Everything will be alright, don't worry I'll always be with you" she reassures me, I nod and take a deep breath, maybe she is right, everything will be alright. When she finally parks the car and we both get out we head to the entrance and wait a few seconds before actually walking in. I could hear the blaring music from just outside, I take another deep breath and ring the door bell, maybe they won't hear it but I do it anyways.

"Hey" Thomas says, I jump a little at the rapidness "you came"

"I was about to turn around and get back in that car like a second ago" I tell him, he chuckles and moves aside to let us in. I smile at him and walk inside with Katrina right behind me, the first thing I see is people dancing. I remember when Mack used to go to almost every party, she would be that girl that knew how to perfectly dance. As usual, I was the opposite, I didn't know how to dance at all.
