Mitch smiled as he walked out of his hospital room to be greeted by familiar faces, his pail parents sitting next to his glazing sisters and finally, his younger brother. The young boy had glassy eyes and a wide smile on his pail face, Mitch ran to Connor and pulled him into an embrace as they cried together. Happy to be finally reunited with each other, he could feel Conner's form shaking in his grasp as he spoke in a hushed voice.
"I t-thought I lo-st you."
Mitch pulled back and gripped Conner's shoulders and stared deep into his brothers teary eyes.
"Don't you ever think that."
Mitch pulled conner into another tight hug and rubbed his back in comfort as he spoke in an honest quiet voice.
"Don't you ever think that I'll ever Leave your side, because I would never abandon you like that Conner."
Mitch felt a recognisable comforting hand on his shoulder and looked up from Conner's shoulder, the kind face of his mother. Mitch shot up and embraced his mother, feeling all the fear and pain return from the depths of his memories.
"I was so scared mom.... I was so scared."
His mother hushed him and soothingly rubbed her son's back in attempt to calm his whimpering, it was in fear and relief. She had been told briefly about what had happened to her son, about Jerome and about him being tested on like a lap rat.
"I know you were darling, and I'm so sorry I wasn't there to stop it.... well trust me, everyone's going to be helping you get through this Mitch. And I promise you will, I promise it'll get better."
"We all promise."
Mitch saw his sisters and father stand up and walked towards him, he felt himself having arms being wrapped around him and he embraced the feeling of love and warmth. With the hug broken, he turned around and saw his hero, his saviour and rescuer. Adam was leaning against the door frame facing away from the reunion, Mitch jogged over to the American and tapped his shoulder. Adam didn't have time to react as arms were flung around him and thankful words being whispered in his ear.
"Thank you, thank you so goddamn much."
Adam hugged Mitch back and smiled.
"As i said, I'd do Anything for you Mitch. And, I've got something to show you out side."
Adam grasped Mitch's hand guiding him to the exit, but before they went through the door Adam covered Mitch's eyes with his hands and slowly led the unknowing Canadian out side. Mitch could feel the crisp wind brush against his skin and the warm presence of Adam behind him as he was guided a few more steps forward.
"You ready Mitch?"
"Yep."
When Adam's hands had been removed, Mitch's eye widened with shock as he saw the members of Team Crafted and The pack in a crowd holding a "WELCOME HOME MITCH!!!" sign. They all cheering and Mitch laughed with more joyful tears falling from his eyes in disbelief and pure happiness. Mitch ran to them all and hugged and cried with each member of each group and he enjoyed each second of it. When Mitch was surrounded by his friends and Adam was next to him, he span on his heels and snaked his arms around Adam's neck gazing deep into those dark eyes and smiled.
"I never gave you a proper reward Adam Dahlburg."
Before Adam could question, Mitch's lips were pressed against his and the cheering of their friends got louder and louder until it faded into silence as the two fell into a haze were everything and everyone disappeared. The feeling of yearning and need that had been pestering Adam for so long was finally fed as Mitch and his lips molded into a passionate sweet kiss, Adam's hand making it's way to Mitch's cheek deeping the kiss with a tug. After a few seconds, but to them it's was a century, the haze lifted and sound returned making Mitch brake the connection and back onto his feet. Mitch felt his cheeks burn crimson as he saw his family smirking at him from the entrance and he hid his face in slight embarrassment. The cheering and whistling of their friends not helping his now flushed appearance. He saw Adam being lifted into the air by Ian and Quinton as everyone applauded him for saving his life, saving Mitch's life after so long. Mitch chuckled and smiled when he turned to his sisters, he enveloped them in a hug.
"So Mitch."
As Kylie began, Marley finished.
"you gonna get back with Mr Hero over there?"
"Well, maybe, I don't know what to do."
"Well mom and dad are going to send you to go live with him so...."
Mitch pulled back from the embrace and stared wide eyed at them.
"What?!"
"Yep, their gonna send you to live with Adam... because there isn't enough room at home because of are Cousins and well he told not to tell you this but..."
Kylie leaned closer to Mitch's ear.
"He still loves you."
"No shit Kylie, they just kissed after like nine months."
The trio laughed and looked over at the group of cheering and screaming guys, Adam now on Quinton's shoulders as they all sang a song Mitch had never heard. Adam technically screeching. Mitch felt himself being pushed by his younger brother.
"Go get him!"
Mitch laughed as he ran towards to group of celebrating men and began to squeeze his way towards Adam. When finally did, Adam was no longer on anyone's shoulders but on the ground jumping up and down.
"Heya guys, let's show some respect to the newly weds, eh!?"
Rob's comment made everyone laugh while they backed up from them as Mitch felt Adam's arms snake around his waist.
"We're not newly weds..... yet."
"Oh looks like Adam's future proposing Mitch, better get a wedding dress ready!"
"I preferably not wear a wedding dress and who said I'd say yes."
Adam arched a brow at Mitch and the Canadian chuckled as they leaned their heads together, kissing for a brief moment and received a few wooing from friends and family. Mitch then found his legs wrapped around the American's waist as Adam twisted him round and round in toon with the music, the people around them clapping with the rhythm. Soon, the dancing and the laughing stopped and it time to go home, Mitch saying goodbye to each friend with open arms. When he got to his parents, he asked about him living with Adam and they simply explained they didn't have enough room and that honestly, Adam was more better to be around after something like that. And Mitch agreed, he didn't want his brother seeing him crying and crying and crying for hours on end. So, he gave his family an embrace and walked over to Adam were he slipped into a taxi with him.
And soon enough, Mitch was standing on the door step of Adam's house ready to begin and new life.
