It's the 5th inning and there's still been no action. Other than the fact that Mets are still losing, but now it's by a whole lot more.
"2 and 17? What're you doing Mets?" Gorgeous Guy asks to no one in particular.
"Losing." I say.
I guess I answered his question because he didn't say anything back until a few minutes later.
"Dylan." He says grinning.
"What?" I ask utterly confused.
"My name's Dylan." He says looking at me now.
"Oh." I say raising my eyebrows. "My name's Marley."
"Marley." He repeats. "I like that name."
No one has hit one to the crowd in left field this whole game, and it's frustrating me.
"I told you we should've sat in right field!" Skylar says finishing my thoughts.
"I know." I say frowning.
Not even 3 pitches later, Curtis Granderson knocks a bomb out to the left field stands.
That was quick.
Dylan sticks his glove up and catches the ball right before I could catch it.
"Beat ya to it." He says with a smile.
I scoff as I sit down. "I could've caught it."
After another inning, Skylar has to go to the bathroom.
"Brb." she says as she almost knocks down the drink guy.
I don't know if I should talk to Dylan, or just sit here.
"Here ya go." Dylan says handing me the ball he caught.
I guess I'm talking to him.
"No you keep it." I say pushing it towards him.
"Now why would I need my own phone number?" He asks.
"What?" I ask looking down at the baseball. Sure enough, right on the C stitch, there are nine little digits written.
"I can't take this." I say not wanting it at all.
If Luke finds out I got another guys number, the bruise on my cheek won't hold a candle to what he'll do.
"Why not?" He asks upset.
"You don't understand. I'm already going to get beat for going to this game, let alone if I come home with your number." I say trying not to be rude.
"Oh." He says turning around. "I understand."
I'm the worst person in the world. He was just trying to be nice Marley. You probably just saved yourself and him.

A/N: I'm real bad at this. Anyway, let me know what you think of it. I'm gonna keep writing though.
