"I'm taking you to meet my family today," says Nathan as I pull my tank top over my head.
I stare at him, puzzled.
"Well, my mum knows that we're dating. Anyway, she wants us to come over for supper, then stay the night. We have time off so we can stay there for three days. We gotta wear something nice though," he explains while spiking his hair.
"Umm, yeah sure." I stutter, sitting on bed while I straighten my hair.
"Well you don't sound so certain," he says, walking up to me. Nathan kneels on the floor, between my legs.
"I'm just, I don't know. I don't think she'll like me," I frown, grabbing another piece of my hair and placing it in the straightener.
"Hey, don't do that. Of course she will. And you can meet Jess! And my step dad Phil!" he says, rubbing my thighs. "Look, we've been back together for a month and a half now, and I'm certain about you. I love you so much, and soon, my family will love you too."
"Nathan, are you sure?" I ask, rubbing his arms. "I mean, are you sure that they'll like me?"
"I know I like you. And when they see that, they will too. Trust me babe, they will love you. Now pick out a dress for tonight. We're driving to Gloucester!"
He gives me a quick peck on the lips before skipping out of the room, to join the others downstairs.
While straightening my hair, I keep picturing what tonight will be like. Will we sit at the table, Jess beside me on one side, Nathan on the other. Will we talk about Nathan when he was a kid, making him embarrassed? Will he show me around, then bring me up to his childhood room and we fool around?
I get lost in my thoughts, when the smell of burning hair snaps me back to reality. "Shit!" I yell at the burnt piece of hair. I tuck it behind my ear, hiding it.
I turn the straightener off and stand up, brushing hair off my shirt. I close the door behind me and make my way to the living room.
When I get to the bottom step, I hear yelling and shouting. I run to the living room, to find Max and Nathan yelling at the TV. Soccer is on.
"You guys scared the shit out of me with your yelling!" I exclaim, smacking both of them in the back of the head. Max rubs it and Nathan glares at me, then smiles.
I walk over to the game room, where Tom, Siva, and Jay sit. "Oh common! That was so cheap!" yells Jay, throwing his controller. They spot me, and compose themselves
"Oh hey Haley," says Siva. "Where's Nathan and Max?"
"Yelling at the TV. The socc-uh, football game is on," I say, and sit in the purple leather beanbag chair with Tom.
He gives me a controller, and we play Call Of Duty MW3. I kick their asses.
I love spending time with the boys, without Nathan sometimes. It's just us, bonding and being friends. I've grown closer to Jay, but Max is my best friend. I'm glad Jay and I get along though.
I stop playing Xbox, and let the guys play. I walk up to my bedroom. I walk to my closet to find a dress.
After digging miraculously, and throwing a bunch of clothes in the corner of my closet, now a heaping pile, I found what I was looking for. I hold up a beautiful black dress, spaghetti straps. It's slim fit, which means it'll hug me perfectly. It's mid thigh length, so I'm a little worried that it might too slutty. It's made of silk and cotton, giving the perfect mix to hug me perfectly.
I also try something new, and pick a black heel. I'm taking a risk here-I never wear heels!! These look cute though, so what the hell, lets give it a shot.
