"Once again you've managed to out due yourself Morgan." said Alex, who co-owned the firm with me.
"I try, you didn't do so bad yourself" I responded.
We had just finished prosecuting a serial killer case, and with the teamwork of the 2 of us, we successfully got a sentencing of life imprisonment.
"Not to toot my own horn, " Alex paused "I'm going out tonight, and you're definitely coming"
"Nope, no can do. You know me Alex." I said while shaking my head.
"I don't get you little one. You're 22, a more than successful lawyer with her own firm, and you're looks aren't devastating either. You should be throwing it back" Alex replied
I smiled and responded "I won't be "throwing it back" for anyone, anytime soon. But I actually have a date tonight so.."
"Dates with mittens don't count." He dryly remarked, referencing my cute little kitty.
"They do to me," I replied, getting my things ready to go "Bye Alex"
"We can go to the club by your apartment, that way you can dip as early as you want." He insisted.
"Fine, 20 minutes, 30 at the most. You're driving" I said giving up.
"Alright let's get it!" He responded excitedly.
I already regret this.

"No thanks" I politely declined another mans offer to buy me a drink. I'd been here for 16 minutes exactly and I'm struggling to stay awake while Alex is having the time of his life like usual.
Just as I felt my eyes getting ready to shut once again I feel someone sit next to me and say
"What's up sleeping beauty" laughing.
I turn and see a man with funky hair but nice style, just smiling. A little creepy but I was too tired to curve ya know.
"that's funny" I state, trying to stay awake.
"That didn't sound too convincing" he replied, laughing yet again.
"Sorry" I reply, short answering him, honestly all I can think about is how good my beds going to feel.
"You need me to call you a taxi? I don't want you to end up staying the night at a night club" he asked
"I live 2 seconds away, I'm just gunna walk home." I said, waking up a little.
"Here, I'll walk you home, make sure you're safe and all" he responded, getting up and helping me get up also.
"Thanks" I muttered while I grabbed my phone and proceeded to walk out with mr funky hair.
A minute into walking he finally speaks up,
"I'm Odell by the way"
"Pearce" I replied, "this way" while turning a corner.
"So what do you do?" He questioned, trying to start conversation I assume. "You seem... professional." Odell added.
"is that bad?" I asked, puzzled.
"No, I was just wonderin" he quickly corrected.
"Oh well, I'm a criminal defense lawyer, you?" I responded.
"Impressive, and I play football" he said smiling.
"Cool," I said while stopping in front of my complex, "this is me, thank you for walking me home that was nice."
"No problem, you think I could get ya number? You know, just incase I ever need a lawyer." He asked while slyly smiling.
I laughed at his failed attempt to be cute, "why not" I shrugged, putting my number in his phone.
"Good night" he smiled.
"Night." I mumbled, heading up to my room.
He was pretty cool, maybe I should go out more? Eh I probably won't.
I showered and went to sleep but not before I texted Alex and told him I made it home safely.
