"Prosecuting against that wouldn't be the smartest decision. I'd give him a little bit more credit than that." I spoke, currently sitting across from Alex. Discussing probable outcomes from a hearing in less than an hour.
"Speaking of smart decisions, Odell?" Alex questioned, leaning back with cupped orange juice.
"We're friends." I retaliated.
"I know you little one, you don't just become friends with anyone.." He responded, emphasizing the word friends.
I'll admit that he has a point but I also have no idea how I feel about Odell at this moment.
No doubt he's really attractive and aside from his looks he's easy going but I don't know about a whole relationship. That means commitment and attachment and I definitely don't have the time for all that.
"Let's get going before we're late." I said, not wanting to talk about Odell at the moment.
"Alright, but we're having this conversation sooner rather than later." Alex finished, standing up after leaving a tip and making his way to his car parked right in front of the restaurant.

"Why are you here?" I asked opening my front door, allowing my 17 year old sister inside, as she slid her shoes off leaving them by the door.
"A simple hello will suffice" she smartly replied, walking over to me and putting me in a tight grip.
My sister, Ashley, is 100% the most annoying teenager I've ever come across. I love her and everything but if there's one thing she doesn't know, it's personal space. Something I value a lot.
"Get offfff" I dragged. It's like she has nothing better to do with her life. Doesn't she have school or something?
"Why aren't you at school anyway?" I wondered.
"Because school is pointless and I got hungry." She shrugged finally letting me go and plopping on my couch.
"I'm not covering for you" I harshly reminded her. She's never at school, honestly I don't know how she manages to move up a grade every year.
"I don't need you too hoe, it's lunch time so I'll just tell dad I had to wait in line for my food." She replied, already planning ahead.
"And that's why you'll never make it to college." I shook my head, sitting down next to her. I know I should be setting better examples and trying to will her to go to school but I know her too well. If she feels as if something isn't worthwhile she gives up on it. And school is definitely something she gave up on, starting from grade 3.
"College is nowhere near my future, stripping is though." She playfully responded, laughing a little at herself.
Despite all of her truancy and dumb comments, she's pretty intelligent. Which is beside me, I wish she would try sometimes.
We sat in silence on the couch, both kind of in our own zone until my phone started ringing and it was no other than Odell.
"Hey" I answered happily, this is the first time I've gotten to talk to him today and I felt unexplainably giddy.
"Hey babygirl what are you doing?" He replied quickly. Ashley, having heard his use of words due to speaker, raised her eyebrows and sat up a little getting interested.
"Nothing really, I got home a few minutes ago from court." I answered, "what about you?"
"I'm driving home from practice, how was your hearing?"
"it was long and unproductive, but me and Alex made the best of it using a 4 people jury, how was practice?" I sighed, remembering the long, almost 2 hour court hearing I had endured earlier today.
"It was long but productive," he said, rearranging my words "Im hungry so I was wondering if you wanted to go grab some lunch?" He questioned
Ashley pinched me, and mouthing to me that she was also hungry, like I cared.
"Cook here" she mouthed.
"My little sister is with me, so if you want to come over I can make lunch for the 3 of us?" I suggested, responding back.
"Yeah that sounds fine, see you in 20. I already know to be safe" he replied, knowing I was going to tell him to be safe already.
"Whooooooooo wassss thAt?!" Ashley drug out, being dramatic.
"My friend, who is also a man" I simply stated, getting up and ready to make lunch.
"Do you happen to like your man friend?" She got up with me, bugging me even more?
"Maybe, maybe not. What do you want for lunch?" I questioned, trying to skip over the Odell talk.
"You aren't slick, but can you make brunch?" She asked.
"No problem."

Hearing my doorbell, I walked over to the front door and let Odell in.
"Hi cutie" he smiled, taking me in for a big hug. I could tell he just showered because of his strong scent and the smell of after shave. I'm beginning to get used to all of the pet names he uses quite frequently.
"Hey, this is my little sister Ashley, Ash this is Odell." I introduced the two, stepping out of the way.
"So you didn't want to mention your man friend was in the nfl" Ashely's smart ass said, causing Odell to laugh.
"Anyway, I made some breakfast for lunch and the plates are in the dining room." I ignored Ashely.
The three of us ate and conversed about literally anything from Odell and Ashley's weird liking of yugioh to the best rappers of all time. Watching Ashely get along with Odell so well wasn't helping my case of trying not to like him.
After cleaning up and saying goodbye to Ash, me and Odell laid on my couch, with his head on my chest and my arms over his. "Movie time?" Odell questioned, looking up towards me.
"Movie time." I confirmed.
