Chapter 2
"What happened to you guys?! You look like you got hit, by a bus!" April exclaimed.
She continued to dap the antiseptic onto Raph's wound, making him hiss in pain. She winced at his reaction, practically feeling it, the wound was huge, where the vigilante's katana was pressed against.
Leo groaned in pain as Master Splinter pressed an ice pack into his forehead. Mikey, having sprained his ankle, sat still as Donatello wrapped the roll of splint around it.
Donnie lifted up his foot gently, apologizing whenever his brother whimpered in pain, he made very sure it was elevated.
No one has said a word so far, not even one.
"So, you guys gonna tell us what happened?" Casey asked gingerly.
"None of you have spoken a word since your return. My worry deteriorates each second. My sons, I ask nothing but the truth, what had happened?" Master Splinter pleaded.
"Well...turns out, we met a friendly neighborhood vigilante that helped us defeat the Kraang" Leo awkwardly answered.
"Friendly huh? Yeah she was sure helpful with putting her katana on my throat." Raph scoffed.
"If it wasn't for her, we would've been dead. So be thankful, that our shell are still intact, and we're still alive." Donnie butted in.
"It wasn't Spider-Man, so not a friendly neighborhood vigilante" Mikey muttered bitterly, not appreciating people misusing the reference.
"Wait, wait. She? She?! As in, a woman?!" Casey asked confused.
"The vigilante is a girl?!" April asked, flabbergasted.
"And she saved you? From the Kraang?" Casey teased, making Raph let out a grunt of annoyance.
"What's so wrong with a woman saving people? Casey?" April interrogated.
"Because, it's embarrassing. You should be saving damsels in distress, not be rescued by one" Casey chuckled.
The brothers all glared angrily on their, reckless human friend, making him laugh nervously and shrink back into his seat. Never anger armed ninjas.
Although they were angry, their eyes on fire, behind it was shame and disappointment in themselves.
I mean come on, a guy saved by a woman? Isn't it suppose to be the other way around? How's your egos ay boys?
"If it was simply being rescued by a woman. Why have you not spoken since your return? Is it because of your shame?"
All the four masked terrapin nodded shamefully, embarrassed and distressed with their failure.
"My sons, every once in awhile, you will need help from others. At times we all need desperate help for survival, even I have had difficulties in my life. No matter who had given you assistance, or what gender does not matter. Do not let what people's judgments, get into your head." Splinter lectured, holding a small smile of reassurance.
"Thank you, Sensei" Leo thanked, smiling at his fathers words.
His mutated father simply nodded, walking off to the dojo, heading to his room for his meditation with relief.
Once their adoptive parent had been out of sight, Casey had a smug grin on his face, his eyes glimmering with mischief.
"You guys really got your shells handed to you" April muttered, plopping to the seat next to Raph, "Was she a mutant?"
