Pain
Who has pain?
The mother who watches her child slowly pass on,
knowing she can't do anything.
She does, she has pain.
Pain
Who feels pain?
The young boy who waves as his dad boards the bus
that will take him to the military base, not knowing
whether or not he will return.
He does, he feels pain.
Pain
Who knows pain?
The girl who stands silently as she listens to
her family fall apart, crumble bit by bit until
there is nothing left of it.
She does, she knows pain.
Pain
A burden we all carry.
A soul-wrenching, dream-stealing feeling that
We all have.
We all feel.
We all know.
Yes, I think we all understand pain.
