Seto
Seto didn't sleep that night. There was an unidentified tension is the air, and it was driving him crazy. Realizing that sleep was no longer a pleasure to him, he lit a candle, and moved a green book to his lap.
The book had no doubt seen better days. There was a fine layer of dust and the edges had been torn off. The pages were all wrinkled up, some even falling out. Attempting to dust off the cover, Seto propped himself up, and opened the book
Never had Seto grown more frustrated in his entire life. He had realized too late that the book was written in a bizarre language- one he had never seen before. 'A' had turned to 'Ä' and 'E' had turned to 'Ę.' He had made it through the first two pages, not wanting to know what gave his the ability to stumble through the sentences. Seto had gotten stuck on the world Šœrčêręr and at all cost, could not decode it. Half of his brain could barley understand the text, while the more awake part told him that he didn't want to know.
And this dear readers, is where Seto started digging the hole for himself.
The room had lit up within minutes. Seto looked up, now realizing how long he had actually been up. Taking the sheets off of him, he climbed out of bed, walked across the wooden floors, and over to the white curtains that were draped across the Windows.
Lusater had been known for its amazing sunrises, for even Seto was still taken aback by their beauty. The sky was a solid pink and purple, blue streaks appearing even so often. The sun had begun to come up in the east, the top half sticking out of the ground like a giant dome.
Movement from another balcony caught his attention- someone was waving at him. Seto's face lit up when he realized the waving figure was Mason. Seto waved back and went to go grab his bag. The green book caught his eye, and he decided to bring it along.
He grabbed a blueberry muffin from the cooking room, and was about to walk out the door when something stopped him. Seto was surprised to see his father up so early. "Good morning father," Seto said politely as he bit into his muffin.
His father's eyes drifted to his bag. "What's in there?," he questioned. Seto shrugged. "A book." "Can I see it?," his father asked. Seto frowned. His father has always been into reading but never normally checked to see what he carried with him. Not wanting to argue, Seto pulled the book out of his bag and handed it to his father.
If he hadn't have been paying attention to his father's face, he never would have noticed it turn to from tan to pale within a few seconds. Snapping out of it, he looked back at his son. "You know what? I'll put this back in the living room." He spun on his heels and quickly walked out of the room- leaving a very confused Seto in its place.
