Chp 2

I sighed and stretched out my arms and legs, tonight was what my pack called "The Rose Run." It was basically the full moon right before or after Valentines day on which we ran as a pack. I preferred to run nightly on my own, however tonight I have no choice but to run with everyone else. That is my Mother's orders, my mom being the Alpha of the pack and I next in line. My name is Cinnamon Bay Wolfsbane, no joke unfortunately. My mom loves cooking and baking so when she was pregnant with us kids we got stuck with spice names. My sisters were named Rosemary Allspice, and Ginger Clove.  I miss my sisters and my dad, but that's just something I am still dealing with even though it's been two years since they all died. Back to explaining the Rose Run, its got this dumb legend behind it that mates will find each other on that night.

A knock at the door startled me out of my thoughts bringing once more a tired sigh from my lips. "Yeah?" I called out half heartedly as I paused in my stretching. "Bay, Annalise is here to get ready for the run. She is going to be staying with us for a few weeks. Please be nice to her." I frowned at my mothers words, Annalise is a stuck up pain in the ass who happens to be my goody goody cousin.  "My room is off limits!" I snapped in return just as my cell announced a text from my best friend. I could feel my moms disapproval coming through the door, but instead of saying what I thought she might I only heard, "Alright off limits I will tell her to stay out." I nodded even though she couldn't see me and grabbed my phone opening the text quickly.

Hay Bay ready to run? Cameron will be there ;)
I don't care if a million Camerons will be there.
Bay come out and we can talk about him and me then. :)

I laughed at Kellys response and brushed my hair out then as I turned to go close my balcony door I heard my cousin announcing that she was coming in to give me something from my mom for tonight. "My room is off limits, leave it out the door."  I heard her say no and open the door anyway, my eyes narrowed down as she entered my room carrying an armful of roses. "I told you out." I snapped, my wolf side was begging to come out. She paused and looked me, I could tell she grew some but her wild blonde hair and green eyes still held their mightier than thou glint. "As if I care what you want little cousin. I just want you to know I will be out shining you once again, and you will lose everything to me."

I growled and leapt forwards shifting into my black wolf form the moment I moved and pinned her under me. She screamed in my face as I snapped my jaws inches from her nose. I will end up destroying you if you get in my way, cousin or not you leave my friends alone. I forced my thoughts into her head with what little alpha tone I had causing her to shake in response, I knew at that moment she was trying to shift under me. Jumping off of her I turned, dashed out onto my balcony and then over the railing. The air felt cool as it rippled past me as I fell and landed with a roll, my left ankle didn't land right I could tell by the slight bit of pain. I stood and bared my fangs up at my cousin who stood screaming at me for what I had just done. Shaking my head I turned and ran past my friend Kelly who stood silently shocked at seeing me come flying off my balcony. 

A few minutes later I could hear the sound of paws struggling to catch up to me and the panicked worry of Kelly's voice in my head. ~Slow down I can't keep up when your like this. Are you OK, what happened back there?~  I sighed and slowed down eventually coming to a stop and counting to twenty before shifting back. Kelly who had already shifted before me leaned against a fallen log, waiting I gathered for me to explain. I just looked at my best friend and shook my head, "She just really mad me mad. I can not stand being around her. She is just standing there telling me she is basically going to turn everyone against me once again.  I wish she wasn't going to be living with us." Kelly got up and draped her arms around my shoulders in an awkward hug, "If it gets too bad just move in with us. You know my parents won't care Bay."
