"Hey Cass" Calli leaned across the café table, almost knocking over their coffees. "Look at that guy. He is hot!"
"Calli I told you. I don't want a boyfriend." Cass replied, exasperated "We're only 14. We don't need to date."
"Alright fine miss boring. But look at that one. Ooh I would kill to have him!" Calli sighed and looked wistfully at all the boys around them. Cass twirled a little strand of her auburn hair around her finger. "Maybe that one isn't so bad..." Cass thought as she stared at one of them with nice brown-blonde hair. He seemed nice as he talked with his friends.
"Aha!" Calli exclaimed triumphantly "You're staring at that one! I told you you'd like him if we went boy watching." Calli said with a smirk.
"Calli...I'm only here because summer's almost over and we barely get outside together. I really don't need you to hook me up. Also I'm so awkward around guys so..." Cass told her with a laugh.
"Ugh you! I knew you didn't really care about the guys." Calli playfully pushed Cass with an exasperated sigh. "Buuut to be fair all we ever do is watch Netflix"
"Well yeah..Netflix and chill dontcha know?" Cass said as she started cracking up.
"OMG Cass we're not a couple! You called me a whore remember. I like guys more than ice cream. We've had this discussion before" Calli exclaimed as she doubled over with laughter. She flipped her blonde, trendily ombré dyed hair, over her shoulder and struck a sexual pose with her leg up on the chair next to her. "Hey boys..." She joked with a smirk. They started silently laughing as people stared at them. People probably thought they should he committed to a mental hospital with their amount of insane laughter.
As the friends sat dying with laughter at their table, they heard a smooth voice say "Hey ladies, wanna come sit with us?" Calli's bright blue eyes lifted immediately but Cass stopped laughing and said nervously "No thanks. We're good over here."
"Oh alright" the boy replied sounding disappointed as he started to walk away.
"Cass! What the hell!" Calli whispered forcefully out of the corner of her mouth. Oh excuse me what my friend meant was that we would like to come sit with you and your friend." Calli called as she pushed back her plastic chair.
"Oh, great!" The boy said "I'm James"
"Hi. I'm Calliope. Calli for short. And this is Cassandra. Cass for short."
"Coolness. We're over here once you're ready." James stated and went back to his table. Of course Calli wanted to be with James, she was "the hot one."
"Cass!" Calli demanded "Come on! It's the one you were staring at! He basically just asked us out!" The last sentence was a little too loud and James looked over confusedly. Calli covered with a casual smile and a wave. "Come on Cass...pleeeaaaasseee do it. For me. Be my wingwoman." Calli begged with big puppy dog eyes. After a second of consideration,
"Ugh fine. At least he's cute. You know I hate when you use those eyes on me." Cass begrudged as she rolled her bright green eyes, got up and walked over to James and his friend.
