This is already pre-written so pretend it's not Calum's birthday mkay? Mkay.
Calum slides into his desk at school, one in the back since the teacher trusts he'll do what he's told. He almost laughs at the thought.
Don't get him wrong- he's not a troublemaker or anything. He just finds school more than deathly boring. He has straight A's, but he always struggles to actually finish things. He just wishes that he was 18, or actually past it already, so he could leave this place and do what he wants. He could travel; maybe go help after a natural disaster.
He daydreams of places he could be while the teacher hands back their papers from last week. When she slides it onto his desk, he sees her subtle nod of approval.
His eyes flicker to the paper, where he sees a bolded "A" at the top.
He's forgotten everything on that test anyway. That's all school is, is just memorizing a bunch of things for a huge test and then forgetting it right after. It has nothing to do with how "smart" or "dumb" a person is. In fact, everyone is smart, it's just everyone's brains are wired for different areas. So when everyone has to learn the same way, at the same pace, no one is really even learning anything.
That's what Calum thinks, anyway.
Sighing, he slides the test in his folder and goes back to daydreaming. Maybe if he found a boyfriend, he could travel with him. Someone to keep him company, at least...
Fantasizing about Harry Styles in a hula skirt with flowers around his neck, dancing with Calum in Hawaii, he barely notices when the bell rings.
Class is over already? he asks himself, lifting his face off the desk. He grimaces, trying his best to wipe away the drool on the surface. Gathering up his stuff, he stands, only to run into another student behind him. He hears their things fall to the ground, and when Calum turns around, he gasps. "I'm so sorry! I didn't see you there. Here, let me help."
He bends down and almost gets a face full of blonde hair, where the other person is bent over, picking up their books. Calum grabs a folder and a notebook that was close to his feet and stands up. As soon as the other person stands up a second later, Calum awkwardly hands the person his stuff.
"Here, I think you dropped...the...I'm sorry. I...wow..." He feels his cheeks heat up and he loses all of his speaking skills.
He's so beautiful!
His clothes are all black, including a black leather jacket and a black lip ring, which do the best to bring out the guy's bright blue eyes. His hair is blonde and in a half-quiff- something Calum finds quite attractive on this guy.
He's also super tall, so he has to crane his neck a bit to look directly into his eyes, also considering how close they're standing.
The guy clears his throat, which snaps Calum out of his trance. "Uh, right. Sorry. Here's your, um, stuff." He sets it in his arms and lightly pats the top of the pile.
"Thanks," he chuckles awkwardly. "Sorry for, uh, bumping into you. I'm so clumsy." He laughs nervously at the end, looking down at his shoes.
"No, it's fine. It's my fault, too." When he doesn't say anything, Calum says, "I haven't seen you here before."
He chuckles, "I'm new. My father and I recently moved here from Australia. We lived here when I was younger, but then moved there because of my mom. But we're back now, since they got divorced, and my brothers are at college. It's a little lonely." He speaks quickly, but then realizes what all he just told Calum. "I'm sorry, you probably didn't want to hear all that."
With sad eyes, he reassures him, "Hey, it's alright. I'd love to help. I'll show you around the school and stuff. My name is Calum, by the way."
"Luke," he replies, smiling.
"Well, Luke." Calum holds his arm out. "Would you like to eat lunch with me? My friends are pretty nice. Michael might be intimidating at first, but he's really cool. And Ashton is usually quiet, but once you warm up to him, he'll open up. So, whaddya say?"
Luke hesitates at first, then grins shyly, "That would be lovely, Calum, thank you." He links Calum's arm in his, and they're off.
